The most serious of questions...
The park started filling up for the weekend yesterday, so last night we had a potluck kinda get together with burgers, hot dogs, etc. Everything was great until the condiments came out. Holy crow, the debate that ensued! I will not share my opinion on this, as I don't want to sway anyone's input.
Is mayonnaise an acceptable condiment for hot dogs?

Mayo AND honey mustard. Along with onions, shredded Mex cheese, and Wickles relish. And sometimes chili when really doing it up right.

In the south they like cole slaw. They're on the menu as a slaw dog. I guess they like their mayo in a different forum.

Never tried mayo on a hot dog - but why not. I like Miracle Whip better (which is ALWAYS good for a DW discussion on my eating habits. Hot dogs NEED yellow muctard, onions, spicy meat sauce and cheese along with some kraut to be good. The two I had for lunch were just cheese and mustard with a bit of relish, but maybe some mayo on the next. Never ketchup/catsup though the DW ruins her doggies that way.
I will put mayo or Miracle Whip and lettuce on a peanut butter sandwich. Or banana. Or bacon. Or onion Or all at once. Elvis liked banana and bacon on his PB sandwich which I believe he must have copied from me

There is no right or wrong here - its all personal taste.
My favorite:
Sonoran hot dog is a style of hot dog popular in Tucson and elsewhere in southern Arizona. It originated in Hermosillo, the capital of the Mexican state of Sonora, in the late 1980s. It consists of a hot dog that is wrapped in bacon and grilled, served on a bolillo-style hot dog bun, and topped with pinto beans, onions, tomatoes, and a variety of additional condiments, often including mayonnaise, mustard, and jalapeņo salsa.
The Sonoran hot dog is prepared and sold by vendors called "dogueros" at street carts.

I just accept her New Jersey upbringing and try not to influence her with my Michigan eating habit sensibilities. I wouldn't know what to do without her though

For us way down here in the south land it’s mustang onions chilly and sometimes slaw. Yes we do drink sweet tea. I know people up in the frozen north land wouldn’t eat a hot dog like that or drink sweet tea.
I understand that in Georgia if a restaurant serves unsweet tea by law they must serve sweet tea.
Isn’t all the difference in parts of our country wonderful?

The original question was "Is Mayonnaise an acceptable condiment on a hot dog?" NOT what is your favorite condiment on a hot dog.
It is none of your dang business what anyone else puts on their hot dog and if you make it your business then you seriously need to get a life! I absolutely will not do business with any hot dog stand that has the audacity to tell me I can't put anything on their dog that I darn well please! I have heard there are some high nosed places in some big cities that think they know better than everyone else in the world. I am here to tell you that is taking yourself way to serious. It's a hot dog for petes sake not 100 year old scotch.
For the record, mustard and nothing else on mine. My wife likes chili hold the cheese.
