2019 Quartzsite Rally

Thanks to Bob & Becky Rohrmann for hosting a great rally this year in Quartzsite. It was great to meet new folks and reconnect with others. Hope to see many of you down the road.

We just purchased our Montana late last year and love it. I have been trying to read as much as possible on this site. Very helpful information. I do see that this rally is the 14th one but is it around the same time every year, same location? Just wondering. We are going full time at the end of this year and would love to come out to one of these. Thank you for the information.

Yes, usually at the same location and about the same time in January. We will be posting a signup some time in October, so just check back occasionally around then. There was s nothing formal and no restrictions on how many rigs attend as there is a lot of desert to spread out in.

A BIG Thanks to Bob & Becky for a great rally in the desert. Although not a very formal rally compared to others, it was still a lot of work. We enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones!!

I have started research on generators
(I am not an electrician or don't have any knowledge of electric)

We have put Quartzite 2020 on our bucket list...
and Janet says she will not go without a generator(s)....

Any coaching / information would be so appreciated....

We have two Honda 2000 watt generators, but the entire two weeks we were out there, we only used one of them and got along quite well. If the weather had been warmer to almost hot, we would have run both Honda's so an A/C could be operated. We have two group 27 batteries, so were able to make it through the nights without generator power, and then each next day ran the generator to recharge the batteries. You do have to manage your power use at night so you don't run the batteries down to a damaging level. There are several quiet inverter type generators on the market now that are suitable for the type camping in fairly close quarters like most of us were in out there. Contractor open frame generators aren't recommended due to the higher noise level and they also don't provide as safe a quality of electric power that will keep your electronics safe in your rig. Besides generators, many of us have water bladders so water can be added to your rig while out there, and we have pumper services come out to pump out your waste tanks, and they have been running $40 per rig for all the tanks each visit. That all takes care of electric, water, and sewer, so almost as good as full hookups in a park, but without the rent. Looking forward to seeing you out there next year.
