New Member with Montana 5th Wheel
Would like to know if someone can tell me how to locate the hydraulic slide motors on our 3950 BR 2017 Montana fifth wheel. 4 slides on the unit but the center (bunkhouse room) seems to get stuck out once in a while (not away from home yet, but what if...)
Dealer or Montana can't show me any details on where the hydraulic motors are located other than to just start cutting holes in the underside fabric seal. Center unit could be in the room, but don't see how to get behind the couch/bed mounted there. Anybody got advice? Just want to be able to manually turn the motors to get the slide back in in a "situation"
Thanks,
Rob

First, welcome to the forum. Second, I'm not aware of any Montana that's ever had more than one pump and motor and that is in the right front compartment on the wall behind the battery. There is a hydralic ram that pushes and pulls each slide in conjuction with guides that use gears. If you crawl under the slides you should see a shiny tube and the ram will be located at the end of that above the underbelly.. On our 2010 that wasn't visible on the bedroom slide because you had to remove the plywood under the bed storage to find it.

Time for a new dealer if that is what they told you. Dick is correct.

Are you sure it is hydraulic? My 2016 3950br as Schwintek drive on bonus and bed rooms. Google it I believe there are 2 small motors for each and to reach them you have oremove the inside trim.

Problems with sticking slide
Thanks for your responses. I'm going to go back to Keystone and see if they can give me a detailed equipment listing from my VIN number... Maybe then I can ask better questions if I know what I have here.
Thanks again

Look on the outside of the slides, if there is a gear rack on the side top and bottom then it is Schwintek

I would pull all slides in and bring all the jacks up, then check the fluid level in the Hydraulic Pump Reservoir, should be 1/2 to 1 inch below the fill, if not add Transmission Fluid to bring the level up.
