Judy and I are planning on going to Pla-Mor in September. This will be our first rally, but about our 16Th visit to Pla-Mor. The posts about the iron in the water are correct, water filters are definitely necessary. Also good hose washers on the coach end, unless you like scrubbing rust stains off the side of your unit! Other wise it is a very good campground.

We used the sediment filter and a charcoal filter along with an in line hose filter. All were throwaways after the week. But we didn't have red on the unit or in the tub.

Good Lord willing, creek don't rise, we should be there at Pla-More for the rally too. The comments about the water are appreciated--we had no problems when we stayed at the fairgrounds last August so would never have known to be prepared. Thanks! See you all there.

Duh, I have been away from MOC way to long. So, is the Great Lakes Regional Rally still a go for September 8-11? Am I correct to assume this is an informal gathering with no official sign up list, other then expressing interest here? If the dates are Sept 8-11 and rally is still a go, looks like you can count us in as well. Do we make our own reservations at Pla-Mor or is this comment sufficient?? Thanks.

Vickster -

We will be having a sign up soon. We have one of the team meeting with Montana and Pla Mor on a regular basis. You are correct on the dates. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the rally.

Gene: I have the two whole house filters in a plastic milk carton connected with the white water hose and the single in line just off the tap and hooked into the water hose.

Last year I only had the single inline but since than I have added one whole house filter and will be adding at least one more and possibly a third before we get to Pla-Mor. Last year I didn't have sufficient filtration and my water lines still have a biege tint to them.

Glenn, when you were at Pla-Mor were you using just the inline filter or had you added the whole-house filter by that time? Thanks.

Being new at this, we have never been to a rally! We have friends in this area and could do both at the same time. Count us in!

Just had the inline filter but I now have one of the whole house types. Before I get to Pla-Mor you can bet I will have added at least one more and possibly a third.

We are from Nebraska but are thinking about coming--we may just stay in a motel so we can go to the factory tour as we are going to be visiting our son in Virginia over Labor day and this would be on our way home. If we do bring the 5er we will want to park it someplace close to the rally on our way to Virginia (Winchester) and then come back and get it. (we have a time constraint on us and can travel faster without the 5er) maybe someone can give us ideas.

Pla more may let you store, give them a call. Course, Labor Day is a busy weekend, but they can only say no, I would ask.

Judy and I spent last weekend (Memorial weekend) at Pla-Mor, and although the water wasn't as rusty as in the past,I suggest filters and/or bottled water for drinking and cooking. Rod and Brenda are making needed improvements all the time and it shows, but only so much you can do with water systems of that size. Very nice people!
Looking forward to September.

Jpkelpe, we had to leave our Montana at Pla-Mor for a couple of weeks after last September's rally due to a family emergency. They had a storage rate (no hookups) but I don't recall what it was. Since we wanted to leave ours hooked up to electricity because of food in the fridge, they charged us just two dollars per day. I don't know if we got a special break because of the big rally. This was immediately after the rally. But I do know their storage rate is cheap so I'd recommend, as Carol suggested, that you call them. Tell them you want to drop it off and come back for the MOC rally. As Terry said, Rod and Brenda are super people.

We are hoping to be there. We may also convince a couple of Montana-owner friends to join the MOC and attend as well.

We are planning on attending the rally.
We are traveling from New Hampshire to MN to take some of our son's stuff out and be there for Labor Day.
We are planning on stopping for the Great Lakes Rally on our way home.
Where is the rally at??
How do we sign up??
What is the cost??
I did my famous "Omelete in a Bag" for he Northeast Rally last weekend. it was a great hit.
If you would like me to do it for the Great Lakes Rally, let me know.
