Quartzsite Montana Circle
No one has volunteered to be Wagon Master at the Quartzsite Circle January 16-24th. There will be a Circle but no organization at this time. I have all the info and contacts, just need someone to step up.
Thanks.

I'll be a rookie for this event. What are the exact dates and location. I was parked next to Mud Chief at the national rally last month and he told me about the event. I've already bought me a Honda portable generator to keep my 6 volts charged. It's over 1300 miles but i will be traveling the southern most route , I-10 so i don't expect any problems getting there.

With his long time experience in the MOC and attending the circle at the Q, he would make an absolute perfect wagon master this year. Many of us would be there to assist him during any perilous times and controversial decision making endeavors such as what time to start the fire at happy hour, etc. You would think anyone with the name CHIEF as part of their MOC name would be a natural!

Dennis has years of experience at the Q gathering and would be the perfect person to organize this years event. Plus he could train Texan to take over next year.
This sounds like a win/win to me.

Are generators allowed to run at night at this Circle? Have a CPAP and need it but not sure others want to listen to a generator all night. Was there about 3-4 yrs ago and ran it and had a guy about 50 yds away come over the next morning and ask if we were going to run it every night....yep, got to. What's your policy?

PeteandJoan,
Blm land has quite hours from 10-6, which means no generators. This has nothing to do with the MOC circle.
I have a heated cpap machine and run all night along with my residential refer. All you need is an inverter and sufficient batteries to power your cpap, no generator needed. Get configured and you can conform to the rules and not disturb your neighbors, it is a matter of consideration...and NO, you don't have to.
Also, if you don't want to buy an inverter, you can purchase a battery pack to run your cpap machine as an alternative. There is not one good reason to violate the most simple and reasonable rules.

We also have cpap machines, and bought battery packs for them, which we can charge during the day when our generator is able to run.
The batteries were not expensive, and CPAP specific. We ordered them on the Internet because it was cheaper than at our dealer for the same thing!!

I am counting votes for WagonChief and so far have 4 votes for Dennis. This will work great especially if a senior moment is involved.

I was not trying to violate any rules....I was just asking what are the rules.
Had not heard about battery pack for cpap.
Thanks for info.

I can't do it and this is why. In two weeks we start moving all the cattle home and many go into our feed lot. I will be feeding them everyday and looking over them. This goes on until the 1st of January therefore I will not have anytime to talk and set up events for the rally like it should be properly done.

Another option is a 12V power supply. I think some CPAPs come with 12V/120V plugs. Of course you may have to hook it up to the TV power plug in the closet!

I just spoke with Paul Umack of ARP refrigerator controllers. He would like to give another seminar at the circling of the wagons in Quartzite. He would like the wagonmaster to call him.
