Getting a little frustrated with . .
While the main forum topics are the same as before, I thought the thread listings to the right of them were the last posted and/or most current ones. On several forum topics they are, but on many others they aren't, AND on at least one they can't even be found unless clicked on at the forum level! What's the deal with this?

Example: MOC on MARS Maintenance shows a "Leaf Springs" post, but when I go into the Maintenance sub forum it's not there.

I don't know enough to say why, but I know what the issue is and how you can correct it. Apparently there are several "sort" options which determine how the posts are ordered. That category was sorted alphabetically. I don't know if that is the default or an exception. Another category I looked at is sorted by posting date (what you would expect).
You have the posts displayed in date order click on the "Last Post" column. Doing this makes the Leaf Springs post magically appear.

Be aware that the topic list in the right hand pane is limited in size and may not reflect all the postings you have not read yet. After you process all the topics in the right hand pane, click on "Today's Posts" on the top brown bar to see if there is more that you have missed.

That's what I had posted about in regards to the Maintenance forum Walt.

You may have to refresh a few times but this should be fixed now. The default sort for threads in a forum should be most recently responded to at the top of the forum section. You can manually sort as noted below to pick something different.

AFAIK there is no mobile version (aka App) for the MOC. I remember reading that Chrome on a tablet works but not for all things. I played with a tablet and Chrome today and found at least two things which are different/not working.
- The Search function gives you the small box for entering search terms but disappears when you try to type. I remember this being a known problem.
- Usually on a laptop based browser, there is a right pane with some of the recently updated postings. This is not there on a tablet. I have no idea why.
Perhaps one of the Admins will chime in on the question and tell us if there is going to be a mobile app for the MOC.
It is pretty clear that if you want to Search you have to use a PC/Mac and not a mobile device.

We have an app in the works and in the meantime there is the standard mobile view of the site (no app to download). That mobile view should automatically load if you navigate tot he site on a small device.
Regarding search: The native forum search is....well... lame. It's a keyword search only. It returns all posts or threads that contain the words you are searching for. You can also search using the advanced search page for posts within a date range or by a specific member.
Here's a link to the advanced search page: http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/search.php
I've also set up a custom Google search which will search this site using more complex search terms. You can try that here: Montana Owners Forum Custom Search
