To Logout or Not
What is the best practice relative to logging out after each visit to the MOC? Should it be done or not??
I thought logging out would ensure I would see all updated topics (using the Today's Post option) when I return and login. And it does. But I receive a message "All Cookies Deleted" when logging out which seems to wipe out my "Remember Me" selection.
Is there a better process we should use with this new software?

I never log out. I think either windows wipes my cookies at some point or MOC logs me out, but it is at least a week or more before that happens. MOC seems to keep the 'today' section correct for me too. So it all works for me.
p.s. I am too lazy to log in every day!!

When you login to the site a cookie is set on your computer to keep you logged in at page changes as you navigate around the site. If you ticked the 'remember me' option as you logged in, that same cookie will automatically log you in next time to visit the site.
If you use the logout option as you leave the site that cookie is deleted (and you see that message on most browsers).
If you just leave the site without logging out the server will disconnect your session automatically after a period of inactivity - I think it's about 30 minutes. This is what most folks do....

Can you clarify what you mean by "If you just leave the site without logging out"?? Is it by closing the browser or by entering a different URL??
I have multiple tabs open in my browsers. One is the MOC. I don't ever close it, when I am done for now I just click on another tab. The next time I click on the MOC tab, will I be presented with an updated list of topics updated since I was timed out??? Or do I have to logout to get an updated list?

Logging out means finding the logout link on this site and clicking.
Closing the browser tab or navigating away from the site or just shutting down your system isn't quite the same. Your session will be disconnected however and that keeps you safe and maintains privacy etc and should be sufficient. The choice is entirely up to you, however.

Just in case this stuff is clear as mud. I will try to respond to what I think you are asking.
It's okay to stay logged in. If you do, when you return to the site it will automatically know what's new since your last visit.
I don't see any reason why you would want to logout in between sessions unless you are a on a shared computer and don't want someone else to get access to your account.

If you click the red x in the upper right corner, you are closing everything but not logging out. When you want to go back to the forum, just click on the link/icon or however you are set up, and you are in...don't have to log in, 'cause you never logged out.
