For those planning a rally in the Lake George area, I would avoid or atleast be aware the first week of June including the weekend because of the Americade which packs Lake George village all weeklong. It's usually very civil but crowded. The second weekend has very large craft arts festival in Glens Falls, about 10 miles south of Lake George village. I live about an hour south of Lake George and these two events draw hugh crowds each year, a campground for 15 or so rvers probably would not be much of a problem but I would make tenative reservations by early next year to be sure. Late June after school gets out and early July are the busiest for that area. Warrensburg, eight miles to the north on route 9 has some campgrounds, some on the Scroon River and maybe more reasonable than L.G.. People canoe and ride tubes on the Scroon River.

I forgot to mention that the Americade is a motorcycle rally, usually touring bikes and as I said they are usually very civil. Lots of Sheriff's and State Police.

Got into this thread late. Anywhere works for us as we live near the 1000 island area. Chuck give Carol a pill. Keep her mellow.

I stayed at Schroon River camp ground last August for a week. I would not recomend it for the rally. Although the camp ground nice it is backed up to I87. The big rigs roll by 40 to 60 a minute at night which is a lot of traffic. During the day it slows down to 20 to 30 rigs a minute. Did not sleep for a week.

Is there a time frame at all on when a time and place will be set?
Also, will there be emails sent out, or is it just going to be posted with all the details?
Thanks

We have been wondering what's been going on with this idea. We havn't responded because we can't say for sure where we will be at any given date. We leave AZ on the 1st of June every year for NY's Adirondacks, so our interest is peaking in this get together if it happens. We start heading home to AZ the middle of July. Didn't want to influence the poll as we are iffy but, we will be watching this thread with great interest.
Happy Camping,

As I am, I just hope I dont have to work the weekend that it is.
I too, would like to mike my first rally.
I will keep watching for details. I live right In Syracsue, Central NY, so no matter where it is in the state, I will be there provided I am not working.

Where have I been? I totally missed this subject until today. I prefer the Niagra Falls area or as Glen suggested the Thousand Islands -- Wellsley Island State Park. Niagra would be crowded... TI is tranquil!!

Too late Pat and Phil, We're going to Lake George. I would have preferred the 1,000 Islands but Lake George also has a lot to offer as well.
Where are you located in PA? We are originally from Reading.
ON EDIT..If I would read signatures I would know you are from Pittsburgh. Never Mind!
