My screen name on this forum is HamRad. I am retired. Worked for many years for the Federal Govt. My wife is a teacher and this is her last year. We hit the road for some serious RVing come June of 2003. We both are really looking forward to traveling. We have two little doxies aged 11 and 12. They are brothers. They tell us which way to go and are the reason we got a 3295RK Montana.
The reason for the name HamRad is because I'm a Ham Radio operator. It is a hobby that I truly enjoy and it is something that I can do 'on the road'. It can come in very handy while traveling.
We live about 100 miles north of Los Angeles in the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley. Bakersfield and area has been our home for the last 30 plus years. We like the weather but the air quality has gone downhill the last 10 yrs and we can't tolerate the summer heat like we could when we were young! So we will be looking for places that are cool in the summer and away from the valley heat and dirty air.
Hopefully we'll run into some or all of you somewhere out on the roads of the great USA! Happy traveling.... HamRad
