Quartzite
When is Quartzite for 2016 and the gathering of the Montana's? I did a search and there were a few comments but it is not there or in the camping calendar. We are considering going, but our son's wedding is in Florida in March. I know it is January, but we would also like to hit the Western Blast fireworks.

It is around the same time as the RV show and Rock and Gem Show. It is about the third week in January.

That's one thing we'll really miss about going to Florida this year, probably be back that way next year.

Our past 6 years experience, the time has always been ...usuallly...approximately...the 3rd week in January!!!
If you google Quartzsite Gem and RV show 2016, you will have more information. Last year, the official start of The Gathering (as I call it) has been on a Wednesday before the official opening of the RV show and ends (if you wish to leave) the following Wednesday.
Previous attendees have been known to show up a week before or stay a week after! The 14 day on BLM is free in the area that is used. There are some other BLM charges in other areas of Arizona and California. Just FYI.

Last year's MOC Q rally started Jan. 13th and went to the the 21st.
We will be in Quartzsite next year but will not be actually in the circle as we will be working at the Big Tent during the RV show for Escapees at their booth for 9 days. We will be setting up at the La Posa South LTVA.
We plan on attending as many of the events at the circle as possible.

For 2016, to the best of my knowledge no one has stepped up to be Wagonmaster. That is why you haven't seen anything posted.

Thanks for the info. I think we have decided to try for 2017. With Terrie's Dad living with us, being gone for Quartzsite, Western Blast and a month in Tampa is just too much. We were hopeful this was the year, but we'll go visit MOC friends in Florida.

My girlfriends and I would love to come out and do the Montana Circle. The past posts look like it would be a lot of fun.
I just checked and the RV show starts Sat Jan 16th.
So if the Weds before is the date for the circle - then that would mean the circle started Weds Jan 13th. and ran thru the 19th or so. Is that a fair assumption? Would it be in the same place as in last years posts? I'm home now and the Trailer is in a shop getting solar installed so we will be ready.
I think we might come out and if there is a Rally - great! If not - Quartzsite still looks like its a hoot.
Can one just show up or is there some sort of reservations required?

The 2016 Q dates would be Tuesday Jan 12 - Tuesday Jan 19, depart Jan 20.
There is no Wagon Master at present. I have all contacts and will help when someone volunteers. If you want to volunteer, please PM me.
Generally, mid-October is when registration and info gets kicked off.

I find it hard to imagine that the Q gathering will not happen. I have attended 3 of the Last 4 years and enjoyed everything about the meet.
Although I am not in a position to take on the wagon master duties, my wife and I will agree to arrive 3 days early and work with the group for setup, registration and greeting / parking of rigs. During the gathering we will work as assigned.
Kind Canadian Regards,
Bruce & Gerry Helmer

I'm sure there will be plenty of us there. We will be there early as usual. Hope everybody will still plan on the pot luck. Karen and I will be happy to organize it as we have four the last 3 or 4 years.

We will be in Q again but will be at the La Posa South LTVA starting the first week in January but will be working at the Big Tent for Escapees. We will try and attend as many happy hours and potluck dinners.
