Hi everyone. I've been a member here for a long time but when we sold our Montana and bought a Bounder I started going to This place is better! I got tired of the general crankiness over there.

OK, I've already confessed that I am a SOB, but I still miss my Montana. If you're thinking of going to a motorhome my advice is to be very careful and read everything you can before you buy. The failure rates are astounding and the quality issues of even the high end coaches are horrible. Would you want to pay $350K for an RV that spends 3/4 of it's first year in the shop? (True story)

Amazingly enough, we've had several trips in 3 years where everything worked and nothing broke.

But as they say, happy wife, happy home.

So don't be upset if you see this SOB lurking around a bit. I've become pretty expert at making Norcold refrigerators work very well so perhaps I have something worthwhile to add here.

Well, welcome back to the forum. I looked at a Bounder once...but bought a National RV Tropical diesel pusher instead. It was a great coach, but the wife wanted a fifth wheel so here we are in a monty. John

I have posted comments about him before, but my brother-in-law has a new class A diesel pusher. This is their second Class A in about 4 years. I think he would agree with the 3/4 of the first year being spent in the shop. It has all been coach and systems, nothing to do with engine/transmission. We never really considered a Class A. I guess I always dreamed of pulling a fiver around the country or something.

Anyway, welcome back! The more experience the better.

Yeah, welcome back. Even if you are an SOB. We are a lot nicer than folks on the other forums.

The drive train and frame is better on a MH but the build quality on the RV part is the same industry wide. I wanted a MH as I had a lot of experience driving big busses as IMO a MH is easier to handle. We sold Rv's for several years and toured many plants. Build quality is no better.
