LCI level up, Six Legs

Still getting used to the LCI auto level. Sticker on the rig, manual provided, and manual downloaded from the CD provided with the rig all a bit different. My question: Directions on how to zero setting the controls are specific. But when and under what circumstances are you supposed to do the zero procedure??

Anytime you choose. Probably when you are on a fairly level spot.

You need to "zero" the Level Up system only if you are unhappy with the result of an "Auto Level". For most of us, the factory setting is fine. One friend wanted the head of the bed to be higher than the foot. So he adjusted the RV until it was where he wanted and then "zeroed" the system. Now when he hits "Auto Level" the rig automatically returns to the point the head of the bed is higher than the foot.

We've never changed ours. We liked it from the install so we've left it alone.

The dealer set ours while sitting on the shop floor when we bought the rig and we've never had to touch it since.

We reset ours. We raised the height to make it firmer.

I believe your friend made a poor choice by raising the head of his bed by putting the entire Montana off level. Can't be good for the overall unit. Much simpler ways to raise the head of the bed.

Our "level" point is when the bathroom door stays open in any position. We reset!

That's funny. We use the bathroom door closing slowly by itself as the level indicator. Before level-up we used a four way level and found it depended on where we laid it what level was. We finally decided on the bathroom door as the indicator and when the factory installed the level-up they apparently agreed with us.

Level lengthwise by laying 4ft level along frame under basement. Crosswise, lay it across basement floor as it sits on top of frame.

We have never touched ours. We also use the bathroom door method. Checking with a level on the interior of the unit can be very misleading as it is hard to find two places that are level. We have found however that the counter top on the 3402 Is level when we pass the bathroom door test and the auto level tells us we are level. The auto level was the main reason we traded from the 06 3400.

The dealer zeroed ours for us but the bedroom door would airways close slightly. When i checked the level we were listing to the drivers side. So I took the rig to a parking lot, and the reset the zero point after I leveled the system manually.
