Campgrounds in Raleigh, NC
As soon as my husband recovers from shoulder surgery, we will be heading to Raleigh to spend some time with our daughter. Any suggestions on a nice, safe campground? Thanks in advance!!--Charles and Annette Norton ( The Black Pearl)

I used the dumping station at the NC State Fair Ground campground and looked around. it's very flat and open. They used to have a small one right at the buildings, but now the new one is 1/4 mile away closer to the Horse arena. $25 for FHU and $10 to use the dumping station. You just pick a site and call security to stop by and collect the money. Phone number is on the website.

Here is the RV Park Reviews link for Raleigh - http://www.campgroundreviews.com/regions...a/Raleigh.html
There are a couple more outside Apex south on US 1. One word of caution - the state parks lock you in after 8 PM and there is usually no parking allowed outside the gate. The revenue agents will come and ticket you too.

Last Oct we came to Raleigh to visit our son and stayed at Cooper RV Park US 70 in Garner. Took advantage of the monthly rate. It was clean, affordable and well run.
