Step light?

I never noticed the step light on our new 37&1/4 till now question is where is the switch to turn it on or is supposed to come on with the porch light if so it doesn't nothing anywhere labeled step light in the light switch center any ideas or should I be looking for some bad wiring ?

On our 3402, the step light comes on with the door side scare light. It is strange that it doesn't come on with the porch light next to the door, but we generally turn on both if we need light outside.

And here is a recent discussion on re-wiring the step light so it comes on with the porch light.

Never did understand why Keystone wires them that way.

Everything moves slower when you are in the frozen north. Here in CA it is warm and sunny (oh yea, we are in a drought and there is no water - but we are warm).

Tim, we were just wondering about that last week. It only took us 6 weeks to figure out we had a light under there that wasn't coming on. After running through all the switches we figured it out. I agree with the others, it is a strange way to wire those up.

Hi Tim. Yep, the "under the steps" amber light is controlled by the "scare light" on that side. Our previous 3400 had the same thing, and I looked for it on the new 37 1/4, sure enough, there it was. Of course, I also had to find the switch that controls the fancy LED rope lights that are out in the front cap, and ours are BLUE!! I don't relish turning on the scare light to get that step light on, so I'm working on that. Saw a really neat replacement for the scare light, it is a directional LED fixture, with motion sensing capabilities. Might have to consider that.

Let the "mods" continue........

Terry give us a hint on where you saw that scarelight with the motion detector. Might be interested in that mod also!

As requested......
http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...re-light/68334

However, on checking again, I don't see the motion detecting part listed. I'm going to have to do some checking on where I did see that. I do like the "directional part" of this one.
