Frameless Windows
We are looking at a new Mountaineer which has frameless windows. They look nice, but are they as durable and weather resistant?

We have had no issues with them on our rig, there has been no water leaks.

The only issue I have looking at them, is they only open a few inches at the bottom and you don't get as much air. I don't have them JMO . I really enjoy opening the windows and getting a lot of air. I do like how they look outside. I guess its a trade off or not something that would be issue for many.

For us the cross breeze isn't an issue since the Fantastic fan creates a huge vacuum inside our Monte, so when we open a window, the breezes magically appear.

True, they don't open as far, but at the same time they keep the rain out. On our 2955 we had the two windows one on each side of the bed slide. They did provide a nice breeze, but had to be closed if it rained.
We now have a large flush mount window at the head of the bed and still get a breeze and doesn't have to be closed if raining.
Like anything, pros and cons to each.

I have the dual pane frameless windows on my coach. I've been in temps down to -22 and as high as 108 with high humidity and the windows performed very well. I never used to be an advocate of the dual pane windows until I ordered the current coach. Now having been on the other side, I would not go back. As already mentioned, the frameless windows dont allow you to open them as far, but between the ceiling fan and the maxxair fans, creating a breeze has not been an issue for me. Just my opinion.

Can't you open the side slide windows up to create that cross breeze? I thought those were regular windows so you couldn't break them off as you stored the slides. I realize there aren't as many, but thought they might be enough???
One more thing, I was told by my dealer that the dual pane windows weren't available because they were having problems with them. I wanted to order them to help quiet the interior, but was told they are unavailable. Comments?

Our rig has the frame less windows. I like them. If you are going to order a rig, if available order the dual pane. Same for the small sliders in the slides. Get dual pane there also.
Yes they only open up a small amount, be being able to have them open while raining is nice.

We have frameless in our 295RKD and love them. Plenty of air and no leaks.. Would not hesitate.

Sounds like someone is getting the upgrade fever! It is just as debilitating as two-foot-itis that boat owner's are constantly exposed to. There is an antidote available, but it is costly and no health insurance covers it.
Oh, almost forgot, we absolutely love the look of our frameless windows. We rarely open them anyway but as mentioned since the rig is equipped with four fantastic fans I don't believe air-flow or cross breezes would be an issue.

Thanks for all the input. Now only have to wait for the unit to arrive from the factory!
