Nose cap paint protection

Our new Monty arrives in 3-4 weeks, so excited. Since we've ordered a Big Sky package, essentially paint for us, we want to protect it. I'm my experience the portion of the 5ver that takes the biggest abuse is the nose. Many MHs have a clear coat of something like 3M material on the front end. We're getting a quote, but wanted to know if anyone has had a clear appliqué applied to the nose cap and lower area behind the truck to protect the paint. If so, did it work for you or did you feel it was a waste of money???

Based on a myriad of forum reports, the problematic area seems to be the area directly behind the truck where the generator and battery compartment doors are located. The only problem with the nose cone would be bugs which are usually easily wiped off in the morning dew. We elected to try the TowTector rock and mud guard and unfortunately have only had one extended trip to assess it's effectiveness. We do not have any chipping currently and hope that this trend continues. We will be using a Croftgate product (Croftgateusa.com) to clean the rig and another that is supposed to help prolong the shine which we hope will make the bug issue easier to handle. We did not elect for any type of protective coating for either area. There has been mixed results reported for the different types of rock guards available, but so far, so good for what we chose to use.

LOL, we haven't decided yet if it's a girl or a boy. Hope we'll know when it arrives, then you may be right!

I was going to have my new F-350 Simonized when I purchased it. I talked to two buddies that have been in the new car business for their whole careers, neither of which worked at the dealership I was purchasing from. They both said the same thing about the after market finish protection and that was it only actually last for a year or so. IMHO I just apply a good wax twice a year and that seems to work best.
