Not us , But we did make reservations today for the week after July 4th. Are there any tourist attractions close by and is the beach in walking distance. We asked to have a site on the road close to the pool. any information about the campground would be appreciated.
Hope you enjoy your stay.

I guess the biggest attraction is of course the beach, but the Naval Museum in Pensacola is right up there. Blue Angels will perform on July 4th and on certain days you can watch them practice at the Naval Museum. also there is Fort Morgan in Gulf Shores, fort Pickens (my favorite) in Pensacola Beach, a small but neat G S zoo, a new G S Zip Line across from beach, the beautiful little town of Fairhope, the Foley model train museum ( very neat). Great shopping and of course, eating. Also lots of golf courses if you like that. You can walk to beach but there is a great gulf State pavalion less than a mile to park to get to the beach and wonderful bike trails in tha park. The sites 48 - 52 in the loop are very close to pool as well as 214-219 and the ones on the main road. Hope you have a great time and maybe we will meet later on down the road.

I'm starting to sound like a commercial, but try Peg Leg Pete's in Pensacola Beach. Great seafood! It's on the way to Ft. Pickens. Also the USS Alabama is in Mobile, Alabama. That's only an hour from Gulf Shores. If you go there consider returning via the ferry that runs across Mobile Bay.

Thanks Don and Bonnie, I knew I was forgetting something. Yes, those are great things to do while in the area. Also you can get the ferry from Gulf Shores across Mobile Bay and tour Dauphin Island and the sea lab there. You can stay busy here.

Plan on heading that way. Leaving home at the end of Feb. Taking our time and should be there around March 5_8. Depends on the weather window. We have not made any reservations as not

Joe, they say that as of now the park is full but there are empty sites all over the park. By the first of March a lot of those here now will be leaving. We are leaving March 1. Sorry we won't be here to greet you. They always keep so many sites open for local and transient but I'm not sure the reservation "system" knows what it's doing. On Dec. 30th, They told our friends that wanted to be close to us that there weren't any available sites but won't look to see if anyone might be leaving that day. One hour later there were three sites open and 2 still are. If you are staying two weeks or less you probably won't have a problem, but you might want to call a day or so ahead when you know your arrival to check. Safe travels and enjoy.

If arriving after first of March without reservations could be a problem as Spring Breakers hit Gulf Shore beaches. Know from experience as we had to stay in a less desirable park about the 2nd week of March. State Park had a waiting list day by day with campers waiting at Walmart.

Also Mardi Gras is late this year (March) so that will add to the demand for campsites in March.

I would guess it may already be too late to make reservations for March spring break camp sites in that area. I sure wouldn't wait any longer to try though.
