2014 Service Campaign Notice. *UPDATE* W/Pics...

Just received from UPS a package from KS to add additional supports on the folding dinette chairs on certain 2014 models. An additional brace is needed to support the chairs it says.

Anyone else get these?

UPDATE:
download the notice I got.

http://performanceworks1.com/ram/ks1.pdf

Below is the issue with the chair. The legs can EASILY spread apart and separate the seat from the leg and break.

Below is what the legs should look like.

Below is the brace installed on the right chair.

Sounds like a company not willing to let you down. Sorry, couldn't help it.

Hmmm, wonder if this includes the 3725 models with the folding chairs? In our case, first you have to get the chair "unfolded"...as it is not that easy. Two salesmen and a technician tried unfolding one of ours for demonstration, and wound up cracking the leg. A new chair has been ordered. The other chair they were able to get open......but not without some difficulty!!!

Yes, received ours today, let me know how easy they are to put on. First off, we've never had ours out from under the bed and second, Monty is in storage without a battery and won't see daylight until March or April. :- (

Same here. I guess now is the time, before I misplace the braces.

Assuming the chairs are hardwood, one thing they failed to mention is that it would be very beneficial to pre-drill holes for the screws. Mark the drill-bit with tape or a rubber band to the screw length, and use a smaller diameter bit for the drilling. It will make it a lot easier!

We didn't get any folding chairs with our used/new Monty, but have had four very similar folding ones from Costco for five or so years. They've always been difficult to unfold, but at least there's directions under the seat. They've been great over the years and we've never had any problems with them.

We received ours today. Appears to be easy to do. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Update: very easy , about ten minutes. Drill and square tipped screwdriver.

Got ours yesterday via UPS. Good idea about pre-drilling the holes. Does make it much easier.

Scott,

Might I suggest that perhaps you may wish to edit the picture that is linked in your original post, to redact or obscure your name, address, and VIN number.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm usually pretty good about that stuff. I guess I'm a wanted man now. I'll swear I didn't do it!

Further update.....I'm now wondering if Keystone had so much trouble with these chairs they have quit using them? I checked a more recent 3725 model, and they have changed the chairs back to rigid/solid (non-folding) chairs. We have one on order, due to ours being cracked from the factory. It came....and was rejected by the parts person, because it had a stained seat, and a gouge out of the wood. Sometimes a great idea doesn't always work out!

Vert easy to do. Maybe 20 minutes. We used ours last week and they seem strong enough.

I did not like the chairs and the table in the 2014 and that was one of the many reasons I went for the 2013.
