SPEAKER COVER REMOVAL
We have the 2011 3455SA Monty that has the FM/CD Surround Sound player installed above the fireplace.
My question is how do you remove the speaker cloth cover above the dvd player ?? I purchased a Blu-Ray dvd player but there's no room above the existing player to set the unit. My thought is to build a shelf above the current speakers to place the Blu-Ray. But I don't know how to remove the speaker cover.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 2010 3455SA. If it is the same as mine, I just pull it out with my fingers. It is a wood frame with cloth attached. First time you might have to use a knife to get it started. It fits tight but was not attached.
I have my satellite receiver, hard disk and center speaker sitting behind it. I moved the left and right speakers mounting them underneath the shelf outside the cabinet. I used a free standing wire shelf that I bought at a housewares department. I secured it with Velcro strapping screwed onto the shelf, both side to side and front to back.
Hope than helps.

Hi Larry,
My Samsung DVD player and surround sound system was failing, so I purchased a blu-Ray surround sound system from Walmart. Not only is it Blu-Ray, but it converted the TV to a smart TV with a wireless internet connection. If believe it cost around $240 but can't remember exactly. I replaced the player but left the existing speakers in place. So I didn't need any more space. Don't know if this would be cost effective for you.

Barry,
Is this something you did recently ?? This sounds like a better idea then adding the Blu-Ray.
Dumb question. What do you mean by a smart TV ??

Larry,
I replaced mine with an upgraded samsung model that had blu-ray. The main reason I did is that the upgraded model had multiple Hdmi inputs. That way I could feed HD from the satellite or the blu-ray.

Larry,
We replaced the Samsung DVD and home theatre system about a year ago. A smart TV has an wireless internet connection that will hook up with your wifi and that will allow you to view You tube, netflix as well as a variety of applications over the internet. I have since noticed the blu-Ray home theatre systems at other big box stores, so they should be easy to find.
