Water Pump Noise
Does anyone know if there is a way to quiet the water pump down a litle when dry camping. It sounds like its going to raddle the window off the Monti.

I remounted our last one on foam rubber, helped some. There is a noiseless one available at CW, about $80.00.

Take the pex tubing off the water pump and replace about 2 feet of it with a rubber water hose. Really helps cut down on the vibration. Jim

If you are going to open that area up I suggest you look into installing an "accumulator" tank. CW sells a 1 gal and Lowes / Home Depot have a two gal a lot cheaper. This is a holding tank that prevents the pump from machine gunning when low water volume is requested. The pump runs longer to fill the tank but the tank has to discharge its volume before the pump comes one. I find it prevents the pump from coming on when I make an early morning potty call.
Good luck and safe travels.

Great idea. The early morning run is what prompted the question. We are at San Elijo beach i and the folks next door to us get woken up between my wife and I machine gunning them. Thanks for the suggestion.
I suppose there is plenty of room for the tank? I have not even set eyes on my pump yet.

As H.John Kohl suggests the accumulator/expansion tank will prevent the pump from cycling on/off and serve another purpose as well and that is to eliminate the occasional leaking of water from the safety valve on your hot water tank. Installed in the cold water line it takes up that heated water expansion rather than it being released from the valve.
CW is way overpriced on their tanks, there many other sources that are less expensive.
I also found a couple of spots where the water lines were banging against the trailer and put short pieces of foam pipe insulation in those spots.

If your unit is plumbed for a washer and dryer, bleed the air from those faucets. Bill

Hi
Sometime in the past II posted a picture of some rubber mounts I purchased from Grainger. They helped a lot and when they got about a year old the noise started again and I added a piece of foam under the motor. The pump is not balance on its mounts and the rubber had sagged and let the back of the motor touch the platform.
Adding the rubber hose connection and the accumulator tank would probably make it almost silent. I just haven’t gotten around to doing that.
I don’t have the part number for the mounts any more, misplaced it somewhere.

Make sure none of the lines are touching each other. I bought the foam pipe insulation and covered all areas where lines were touching anything.
