Water pump

New owners of a 3402RL and to this website as well. Like to know if anyone can tell me where to locate the water pump before I have to start taking the RV apart piece by piece. Secondly, I think I have the winterizing process pretty much worked out except for the washer and dryer. Everything I've read says to disconnect the hoses but they are inaccessible without removing the appliances from the closet. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

The water pump is behind a panel in the basement behind the convenience center if it's like my 2011 3400RL... which I think it is. There shouldn't be a need for you to access the water pump though. The pump will pump RV antifreeze in to the system by way of the winterizing connection in the convenience center.

Regarding the washing machine... While hooked up to a hose that's in a bottle of RV antifreeze, turn on the washer on a setting that will draw in HOT water and wait until pink is coming into the drum. Then, switch to a setting that will draw in COLD water and wait for the pink to show up. Also then pump out antifreeze from the washer to fill the trap in the drain line in the wall. It sounds complicated but you'll understand after you give it a try. Just make sure you get antifreeze into all three areas... hot water, cold water and the drain trap. This system works for me.

Also, don't forget to drain your fresh water tank and, using the water pump, pump the pink stuff back into the fresh tank till some comes out the drain. To do that switch the power fill switch on while the pump is bringing the pink stuff in.

Thanks for the info. It all makes sense when you hear it from people who have been there and done that! Sometimes you just need reassurance.

Thanks again for the above info. I actually took your advice and filled the lines earlier today since it's supposed to drop to 22 tonight. The only problem I had was getting the pump to keep suction. I was able to continuously reposition the jug to regain suction but this made it a two man job. I'm speculating that it was due to having blown the lines out first and next year leaving the water in the lines before pumping the antifreeze will help with that problem. Now I just have to wait until December when my wife and I are going to West Palm and leave these problems behind.
