Another TPMS question

I have the tst 507 tpms. Getting ready to store unit for winter. I thought I read somewhere that if you removed monitors from tires battery life would be extended. Is that correct or would you also need to remove batteries from unit?

They are designed to 'go to sleep' once you remove them.

Once the sensors are removed there will only be a small phantom draw. It is still debatable on how much removing the senors from the tires when not traveling actually extends their life.
We had the 507 system on for 11 months continuously,4 months of that time was staying in one spot while Dutch recuperated from surgery. TST states 9 months to 1 year is typical. I don't know how long taking them off would have extended that time. Just our experience. Hugs, Di
