Black walnuts

I get tired of hitting the little hand grenades with the mower, but Sue likes them.. I love to eat them, but the whole harvesting process is a pain.

When one lands on the roof in the middle of the night, it will make you sit up quick!

At the store, the picnic area and employee parking areas are surrounded by walnut trees. With the fall winds they can do the same kind of damage hail stones do, so around Labor Day I always used to put a notice up on the bulletin board saying "Don't park under the walnut tree because it is one". That always engendered a chorus of "One what" from the new employees.

I am more curious as to the process a master improviser such as Ozz uses to crack the Black Walnuts. A lot of work for a little joy, I remember trying all kinds of methods. Drilling patterns in the end, and then finally getting disgusted and pulverizing them with a one pound hammer. Any cracking secrets to reveal Ozz?

This is all Sue, she has it under control.
I would just run over them on the way to the store to buy walnuts
