2013 - 3725 Hidden Plug

There is a hidden electrical plug on the 3725. Has anyone else found it?

This only applies to the 3725.

The plug is located at the very far back corner of the cabinet next to the couch. It is not visible and cannot be used where it is located. The only way to know is getting down on you hands and knees and run your arm back between the cabinet and couch.

Only found it after previously learning its location from you. I suppose that kitchen slide without the couch must also be put in some other floor plan where the plugin could actually be used.

Could it possibly be for a sofa bed option and to plug in the pump for the air bed? Just wondering?

Just walked to the Montana and folded out the couch and the plugin is not visible or useable from any contortion that I could bend into trying to find an access. I say the kitchen slide is built to fit in more than one model, sort of a one size fits all approach. It is probably less costly to wire the slide with a plugin that cannot be accessed than to train production workers not to run wire or install a plugin on certain models. So we have a secret compartment in the closet by the steps and a secret plugin between couch and (interference fit) kitchen cabinet wall. However, if we pitched the couch and replaced with and "Occasional" chair then we could place an End Table beside it and use the plugin.

I will have to go out and check mine out. Could you use one of those 90 degree extension cords in the plug?

Mine is more to the rear and just a few inches from the wall. Ours is usable.

@Scott. Is yours different?

That plug is for the inflatable air mattress pump. That was explained to me during the delivery inspection.

We also have one of those useless plugs in our 3100RL. It is located at the right rear bottom of the couch on the wall separating the couch from the refrigerator. You certainly cannot use it to plug in the air mattress.

Captain Joe has the right idea. Buy a "slimline" extension cord that plugs into the outlet very flat and then the extension brings the outlets out where they can be useful. They come in many sizes. I would opt for a heavy duty one and not those skinny ones. Some of the extension cords also have a multi-socket connector end so you don't have to get a second extension for the other socket. Just remember to keep the overall load under the 15/20 amp ratings for the circuit breaker.

I do this at the stickhouse where we've got some furniture items close to the outlet wall and these extensions allows us to still use the outlets and keep the furniture flush in front of the outlet.

Can't use it for the air bed. The head of the bed is at the opposite end. If you put the head of the bed near the plug, the head of the bed and the motor compartment will fall down behind the sofa. My sofa stops right at the plug, so it is useable without an extension. We won't use it because we have a 6-plug surge protector plugged into the plug located on the counter back splash. No need for any more.

Joe, Mine is the same way as yours. That plug is rather hard to get to, so basically useless. We added a surge protected 6 plug strip to an outlet behind one of the lazy-boy's so we can plug in our laptops or whatever.
