Question for 2013 owners.

When we first got our 2013 3625, I noticed the battery wasn't in a box like our 06 was. At the time, I thought it might have been a move by Montana to save a few bucks, but now I'm wondering. Do any of you have battery boxes?

Isn't it part of some code that has to be met that it is to be externally vented? Our 3402RL has one.

Is it an AGM(Absorbed Glass Mat) sealed battery? If so, technically, it does not need to be vented. The only time that this type of battery vents out anything is if it is being grossly overcharged by the charging system.

As Overlord mentioned, it is solely dependent on battery type. Wet cell should be vented, AGM does not have to be.

While it is important to vent wet cell batteries, it is just as important to have the batteries contained so that items also stored in the compartment cannot fall on them and short out the terminals.

Absolutely there should be a battery box of some sort, if there isn't then you were short changed by the dealer.

It definitely should have a battery box and vent tube attached to vent just above service door.

If you have the standard deep cycle wet cell battery you need a box with a drain, and hood with a flex hose to a vent. You should have a hole in the floor for the battery box drain spout and a grill covered vent for the hose on the front wall near the battery.

Ours came with a box and lid vented to the outside, however, they were a bit lazy on the installation. The top of the box was just setting loosely on the box not secured with the screws. When we had a second battery and box installed, I asked that they secure the lid on both boxes. How hard can it be!!!

as i remember, the box and battery are something that the dealer would install when you buy it. get with your dealer.
