Is there a cabinet peeling problem on the new rigs
Someone mentioned that if specific questions were asked regarding discussions at the Goshen rally, that the attendees would answer based on what they had discovered while there. I noticed in passing that there was mention of a problem with the new rig cabinetry that seemed to indicate that there could be peeling or flaking. George was kind enough to let me know that he had picked up some touch up (stain? or glaze?) at the rally for himself and even thought of us (thanks George) which can be construed as admission by someone that there may be a problem? Can anyone expound on what if any discussions were had and is this a common occurrence and something that all new rig owners should be aware of? Is it specifically related to the new Cherry Cabinetry and the Glaze? Inquiring non-rally-attending minds want to know?

Hi Bingo, The only thing we have on our 2014 with the new Cherry wood is a few marks in the finish. We keep saying we are going to get a wax finish pencil for a couple of places, but have yet to do so. To be honest, we have been using it too much to deal with it.
I have discovered the "wood" on the bottom of the cabinets is not wood, but some sort of pressed cardboard with a "wood" finish on it.
The only current issue is the front closet doors and the vibration in the rear TV mount when the washer is on spin. The LED lights in the ceiling get "bugs" in them and I have yet to figure out how to remove them for cleaning.

Hi Jim,
I found that the whole lens turns counter clockwise. I use a non-slip cloth in the palm of my hand and the lens will come right off.

Bingo. You are welcome. I am not aware of a peeling issue with the cabinets. I picked up the stain to repair any mishaps that I may make doing some kind of mod,or a bump moving things, or as in a couple of cases there has been instances when members got the rig they had a chip or two while in transport. If anyone is aware of a problem, please chime in.

When I was at the rally two years ago they gave away Hickory stain, I was able to get a can and used it often to repair chips and scratches from normal wear and tear. So I asked George to get some Cherry stain for me , if they offered it this year and he did.
Thanks George!!

We have not had a problem with our 2013 3402.In fact it is my opinion that the cabinets in the 2013 are better quality that the ones in the 2006 3400.

Thanks again for the info, trees are turning in the northern half of the state, not so much in the southern half, maybe a little more color will be added by next week.

We have the Cherry cabinets and so far no problems. There are quite a few staples that were not covered, but the pen covered them up.
