Time for the swap work to commence
Full schedule on the menu for today and the next couple of weekends. Normal pre-winter work will commence by closing and covering the pool and pulling some water toys from their summer parking places in front. Then after completion of these normal events, the fun (or work) begins. Off to the mini-storage to start the removal process of the add-on mods that were done three years ago. Today's goal is to remove the second battery and the battery switch, remove the EMS system and hopefully remove the auto-start module for the generator. That should complete the outside un-mod work in preparation for the arrival of the new rig. Next weekend we will start on the inside and basement prep. Based on a previous report from George, the rig should be heading to the paint shop next week and we are still hopeful that we will be accepting delivery around Halloween.

I wish I had to do what you have to do. We are still quite happy with our 2955RL.

I was amazed at what we removed from the 2010! It did not all go back into the new one! It is time consuming, but worth the work." Git-er-done"!

Sounds like a lot of work, but kind of exciting and worth it.

It is a lot of work just to switch the personal stuff, let alone the goodies you are removing. It will all be worth it, good thing you are still young and full of energy.
The home sticks and bricks getting ready for winter is a bunch of work as well, don't you wish you could just flip a switch?

We did the switcheroo in March. Lots of stuff didn't make the transition to the Montana. After 9 years of camping in the Cougar, there were things in there I'd forgotten we had. It was kind of refreshing to clear stuff out and lighten the load. We still have many empty cabinets in the new rig. I like it that way, but I'm sure they won't stay empty. After only 3 years in yours, I can't imagine there is too much extra stuff, but it's good to go through it and re-evaluate your needs. I hope your tasks go smoothly.

This "swap work" stuff sounds like a "labor of love" to me. Enjoy the building excitement.
Hope your new rig fulfills all your expectations.

We are home now and we too have to begin removing mods and unpacking the 3400. We have enjoyed this rig but we are looking forward to the new one. We may have to wait a couple of days before we can start the dismantling and unpacking because of rain and when we do we are sure that we will find things as others have that we will not put in the new rig. Waiting with anticipation.

Took longer than expected, but this evening I completed the removal of the EMS system, the generator auto-start, the extra battery and the isolation switch that I had installed for the two batteries. Also started on the removal of some of the inside additions that will also be transferred to the new rig such as spice rack, generator remote control charging bracket, screen door guards and push bars. Next weekend will be a complete cleaning of the inside of the rig. Being raised an Army brat mandates that we clean everything before we leave it, just as we used to have to do to quarters when my father was transferred to the next location. Starting to get a little eager, now if I could just get an inkling of when delivery will occur??

Bingo, we just did the switch over to our new rig last week and it is a real pain. Found things we forgot we had with us all of this time. We lighten the load a bit for the new rig. I took off some of the mods I did and after a while I said the heck with it and left the rest where they were. That gives me a chance to replace them with the lasted models and improvements I guess. Best of luck to you on the new rig and hope the anticipation of it's arrival isn't too rough to handle.

I know what your mean, we are leaving the washer and dryer and replacing it new and leaving the satellite dish and replacing it new. Figured that would help a little on the trade-in. Anything that I installed, I have no problem swapping over, gotta have something to do during the winter months!
