Clunk and shake issue while setup

Starting to spend a bit more time in the Monty and have found an interesting one. Today, while setup on the levelers obviously disconnected from the truck, I'm getting a clunk then a mild shake every so often. Sounds like it's coming from the landing gear but not sure. It doesn't happen regularly enough to let me track it down. My guess is the hydraulic lines are just heating up as it's already a warm day. Never had this on my old Fiver w/ Electric landing gear and manual stabilizers. Either that or the whole thing is about to collapse .

Anybody want to venture a guess?

The shake in my IMO would indicate air in the hyd. line. the clunk is a puzzle to me.

When my Montana was new it would grumble some while leveling. It seems to have quit now. I think there may have been air bubbles in the lines

We had that same clunk today. Happened to fast to analyze. I'll be watching for it in the future. I thought it came from the right front landing gear and I thing it was sitting at an angle and kind of snapped back when it was lowered as a part of the process. Was fine after it did it so I'll just watch what's up for the next several times.

Ours too. Has not happened the last 4 or 5 times out which included a few drops in temp. of around 40 degrees.

We also place a piece of 2x6 under each jack foot.

We are having the same problem with our new 2013 3402RL. Dealer contacted Lippert and the solution is to add an anti stiction fluid to the hydraulic fluid. Take out a quart then add a quart of: Torco RFF grade 15, Maxima fork oil grade 15 or Caterpillar hydraulic oil additive. Retract landing gear, add 1/2 quart..extend landing gear..add the rest. Check w/Lippert before doing this, I am writing this from memory.

Below is a link to a recent discussion on this problem and a link to the Lippert TSB of their suggested correction.

Very interesting, sounds like a known non issue. If it doesn't clear up ill do the fix.

I read the same fix. This sounds logical and E-Z to do.
