Haven't had a paid holiday in 15 yrs as of Sept. 1, 2013. Cool and rainy here in Northern WI so waiting for clear off to wash and wax car. Watching the Boob Tube and haven't heard one mention of why we celebrate Labor Day, but lot of Labor Day sales ads. Seems this is happening to all of our holidays.

Everyday is a paid holiday when you are retired and receiving a pension or two.

I second what CaptainJoe said. I got one pension, went back to work for another 3 years and just retired again. Didn't think I could ever fully retire because I would be bored. It took about all of a week to get really used to it! I'm in, everyday is like a paid holiday!

Labor Day? I don't work on Labor Day? What?! Oh yeah, I'm retired. Every day is a Labor Day not to work on!

To me, it's neighborhood picnic day. i.e. eat a lot of Johnsonville brats. And Dave, if you've got enough rain, would you please send some down here?
