Raffle & Door Prizes - observation and editorial
Many years ago I was the treasurer of our local car club (Triumphs) and we bid and won the opportunity to hold the National Convention one year in our area. One of my jobs was to organize and put on the raffle and door prizes event. I sent out letters (pre internet), made phone calls, and talked to everyone who would listen with regards to obtaining prizes. To my amazement I found almost all companies and business's more than willing to participate and donate something. They wanted to be part of something that included the people that made their business's successful. During the convention and car show we made enough money to pay for the facilities and had a balance left over for the use of our yearly expenses our dues didn't cover.
The MOC rally is very similar with the need for funds to pay for the use of the fairground facilities and help pay our yearly expenses. I can't emphasize this enough!!!
For all of you that have already obtained donated items, thank you. For those of you that haven't, time is running out, We have less than 5 weeks before rally time. Please make that call or e-mail (I have always found a personal call or visit works best) and try to obtain something we can use as a prize to give away. I think you will find it's easier than you think.
