6 PT Level Sys. popping

Hello Group.

We have a 2014 3150RL and the 6 Pt level sys. We are parked for 2 months @ 9400'. We are experiencing a popping sound from the jacks and when you are in bed at night can feel the trailer dropping and the jacks popping. It may only drop 1/8" but in bed you can feel it.

There is no oil leak showing on any jacks.

I am thinking the internal piston seal is leaking by and causing the pop sound and the felt drop in the trailer.

There is a temp change from 70's to 30's so about 40 degrees. The popping seems worse at night.

We have retracted the rear side jacks and have lowered the front and done the auto level again, but no change. After a couple of days the popping at night resumes.

I am considering removing the fluid and replacing it with a different hydraulic fluid that is more "slippery" so when it does what it does there is no "popping".

Your thoughts or does anyone have a TSB on the issue?

Thanks Jim

There is a recent discussion on this "feature" and a link to the Lippert TSB of their suggested correction.

Before the fix came out, however, most of us just waited and it went away with time.

We had the 6 point leveling system put on 1 week ago (5th) and the installer at Lippert made special mention during the system check out that they put in the additive already. Since we are still in the initial phases of cycling the oil through the system, we still have tiny bubbles, but they said over time that those would clear out.

We haven't heard any popping noises (yet)

Really love the system though!

Joe, The Lippert TSB shows 3 different brands of fluid additive. Do you know what product they used in your installation?

Did they use 100% of one of the suggested products or just add a qt and then used a hydraulic fluid for the remaining fill?

Thanks Jim

We picked up our 2013 3100RL and went on a three jaunt to Lancaster, PA. We were getting the popping noise at night. We returned home and did not use the system again until the Mid-Atlantic Rally. We noticed that there was no more noise.

I thin our popping may have stopped. Its one of those things that kinda gets lost in the events of the day, and is only remembered if it reoccurs.

I don't notice it anymore! But, FYI two of my landing gear have been replaced, due to leaking of fluid! I use my Montana weekly and not for full timing. The up and down etc. has caused a few problems, admittedly, not seen by many dealers! We put a lot of miles in 17 months and it has resulted in slide repairs, 6 point levling etc. We camp every week somewhere, on all kinds of surfaces. Keystone should "give me a test unit" because we are unusual users. We are not hard on the unit, but it's constantly in use, daily set ups and tear downs! Note: so far Good Sam's have covered the replacement units! They (leveling components) are expensive and not perfect! Even had landing pad break in Virginia KOA gravel camp site! I love the system, but I carry extra hydraulic fluid on every trip, and pay attention for fluid leaks on top of jack landing pads!
