Spring Showers

When we woke up this morning here in Nashville, TN, we were greeted with this, 6.5 inches of rain in about 1.5 hours...

This is the road to our camper...

We are dry and our Montana and vehicles are ok! We were lucky! They told us our new FEMA Trailers are on the way!!

Spring huh?! It's summer over here on the West coast, so I'm guessing that's the case over there.

Oh my... I hope yours and everyone's sewer dump is sealed well. I can't imagine the mess if the sewer dumps are not sealed and the flood causes stuff to float upwards. ewwww.

You need a boat!

Art, I agree. I have seen the results of floods, none of it is nice. I really hope no one needs a FEMA trailer!

At least your home is on stilts. Seriously, I'll be praying you don't get more rain. We've got the same sort of thing going on around here, but we lucked out and our RV home base is on a hill.

ALSAN, To bad you didn't stop, would have enjoyed meeting another MOC'er. Could have used you to help "Bale Out"!

Is the water high enough to get up into the wheel bearings and brakes?

I don't envy you at all. Hope the water receeds as fast as it came in. Hope for the best for you.

Hope all recovers well. The KOA you are in was completely wiped with about 4 to 6 feet of water in our 200 year flood a few years ago. Almost no where can sustain 6 to 8 inches of rain in 4 hours. Sounds like an inflatable boat or some fishing waders are on shopping list. Praying for some drier weather.

I bet when a wake from a vehicle goes by its in the brakes. One huge problems with flooding is even if not wet by standing water, the water under the rig for any significant time will promote condensation under the belly, watch very carefully for mold, under slides and inside the underbelly covering and insulation.

Happy to say that the water only stayed around for about 4 or 5 hours. It drained off pretty fast. The water didn't get high enough on our site to touch the brakes or bearings. I kept a close eye on that.

The manager here at the KOA told us that during the flood of 2010 the water in here was about 10 to 12 feet deep. Several campers were not able to get their rigs out in time and all you could see of them was the air conditioner on the roof.

Dang, we passed thru there on Wed. and stayed up near Louisville. We also stayed in Little Rock the nite before and they said that parts of Ark. got 10 inches. I looked like it was gonna cut loose our whole trip up but we never even got wet. We musta been just a head of it. Glad to see your rig and truck are good to go....

Glad to hear you didn't get any damage. The Nashville KOA is where we are planning on spending part of December this year on our way south.
