We are outta here!

Well today is D-Day, the day we leave on our first extended trip since we retired, and I use the word retirement very loosely, we just don't go in to the office anymore. Anyway we begin the grand experiment to see if my better half and I can live in close proximity to one another for an extended period of time. Even though this year will mark our 30th wedding anniversary and needless to say, we are very comfortable around each other, this will indeed be a true test. I'm just kidding, it'll be fine.
We're going to stay out a couple of months this time, touring the Rock Mountains from New Mexico to Montana and every where in between and plan on getting back to Texas around the first of October.
I was thinking of doing a journal type of thing, maybe a blog, IDK, just something for our friends and family to keep track of us with. I love reading " Monty's First Big Adventure" it is well written and entertaining and that's kind of what I'd like to do, anyway I'll let everyone know if I start up a trip log. I'll definitely be updating on Facebook, not sure though how many of the MOC crew are on Facebook. Hopefully we'll see some of you guys down the road.

David

I am volunteering at Steamboat Lake State Park in Colorado. When we first got here in May, it was pretty. Then, April, all the wild flowers started blooming and it was beautiful. That continued through June. It is hotter and drier now, but still pretty country.

If you want to blog and include pictures, etc and maps try:
goodsamclub.mytripjournal.com
It is free, or you can upgrade a bit and pay a little. The free one limits the number of pictures per day/month and seems like something else. Oh, maybe it is when done you can download the journal and keep it on a coomputer.
by the way, if you do it and when done want a printed version, I wrote some software that does a pretty good job of printing the maps, pictures and notes.
Good luck

Thanks a bunch!

I've been negligent keeping it up to date for the past 10 days, but we've been spending all that time with family and reunions, so we've been really busy both days and nights, but I promise in the next couple of days I'll get you all caught up! Plus we have some more great photos, too!
