Had my 5 G614s mounted yesterday. They look great. We aired them up at 105psi. However, my dealer could not find steel valves that would fit through the rim and bolt on the inside of the tire. He put on high pressure (180psi) brass tipped valves with a rubber base.
Bingo and others: Where did you get your steel valve stems? Can you give me a link to them?
Thanks everyone.

Just curious, why did you not inflate your 614's to 110#s' ?

My tire guy recommended 105# and he has many, many years of experience more than me. So I went with his recommendation.

Hey Guys: Reading these ideas about the " China Bombs " I have a new 2013 3800RE with the Goodyear Marathon ST235/80R16E ( China BOMB ) I am seriously thinking to set the Goodyear G614 235/85R16 , BUT the rig came with the ST235/80 R16 s and the rims to fit them. DO I also need new rims ?
Hi John.
Reasons I am thinking switch is that our rig is heavy, I haul from Alberta to Arizona with several side trips every year and a good friend in Mesa AZ just had a blowout and over $2000 worth of damage to his rig, which was the same year as mine.
I bought my rig last fall and hauled to Arizona and returned to Alberta for a total of over 4000 miles. Time to change I guess.
Hi to everyone from the fall rally at Jackson California in April 2013. We really had fun.

Your existing rims are good to go for the G614's. Montana uses the same rims when you order a Big Sky (which comes with G614's) or you order the optional G614 tires on a new rig.
I agree, you are way too heavy for the Marathons.

Definately get rid of the Marathon Bombs as quickly as possible. You are most lilely to have a tire failure and cause damage in the near future.

we are also at 105 psi on the G614's for no good reason other than many here on the forum did so. We asked our Good year tire guy and he said it would not hurt to run them at max in fact he recommended it.Good year puts out psi chart based on weight per axle etc.I do not know what that is month to month.

We run at 110# just to make it simple.

Well, just had to buy a new tire gauge. Called my tire guy and he gave me a recommendation. In searching, I found out that tire gauges have a +/- 3 psi error rating for 50 to 125 psi. That is more reason to run at 105 psi vs. 110 psi. I would rather be a few psi under than possibly 3 psi over.
Running at 105 psi on my G614's.
