Help Finding a good trading dealer

Does anyone have ideas or experience with a dealer that will aggressively trade for a top late model 3400 ??
Thanks

Hi, do you have a 3400 to trade in or are you wanting to trade for a 3400?

What part of the country are you in? Willing to travel?

We have a member on here that is a salesperson @ CW, might check with him.

One thing to remember, and Larry can validate this, is that the dealer has a certain amount of money to work with. From their point of view the more they can keep the better. They will try and judge whether you are proud of your trade-in or if you are more interested in a good deal on a new one. If you are proud of your trade they will show more money for your trade and take less off the price of the new one or vice versa depending on what they think will get you to make a deal. The difference between retail price and the deal they are offering you is the only way to judge if it is a good deal or not and for that you need to compare several dealers. My family started in the car business when Stanley Steamers were new and so, over the years, I've seen and heard it all.

Go to NADA and look it up to get a idea of what the dealership can sell it for. Or what you can expect to purchase it for.

I don't know what kind of prices you are seeing on new 3400's where you are, but we visited our local (small) RV dealer in East Peoria Ilinois a couple months ago but only to purchase some parts. They were having an Open House so we went through a 2013 3400 Montana. He had a sign on it showing a discount price of $74,000. He caught us coming out of it and started his pitch and I told him we were into "used" priced units. He immediately offered the "special" open house price of $59,000 for that day only. I have since searched the internet and feel confident that you could probably buy a new one for $55,000 - $58,000. But at that price they would probably not give you anything for a trade.

Both the new and trade units have a value. The NADA is open to anyone on line.
If I have good info, I will make an offer. The money being spent is the real value of the trade, plus the difference figure in the deal. No matter how you write it on paper, wholesale for lowest retail, or retail for highest retail, the same answer prevails. The trade has a book value and the new unit has a sale able price . I will make an offer if I'm given information to use. I sent you a PM. Thank you in advance for the opportunity to help if I can. I'm retired and enjoy selling RVs. As referred by others here, I have to maintain a good rep among fellow MOCers. I have sold to other members here and have even told some when they had a good deal elsewhere. My desire is to make my co. and my customers happy. Larry

After viewing your profile, I see you are in Kansas. There are fellow MOCers in the area that can direct you to a reputable dealer. I purchased our third Montana from Walnut Ridge in New Castle Indiana and would recommend them to anyone. I live in Ohio and traveled to get mine and yes, they did work with me as we had a trade-in.
