What to do after Decal Removal

I am in the initial process of removing my Decals from my 08 Montana. So far I am using a heat gun and will use Goo Gone next. I am thinking of painting two large swishes on the side, which will cover the areas where the decals were, as I expect a slight color difference from the sun fading. I want to paint the swishes silver to match my truck. Has anyone painted their 5th wheel and if so, can you share any details (prep, type of paint, process, etc)
Thanks

I would use Pettit marine top coat paint, designed for fiberglass, can be sprayed or rolled and tipped. Both will result in a high gloss durable finish. Roll and tip would be the most easy to apply and will not show brush marks(paint flows really well), like all paint jobs its all about the prep. Add a fine line pin strip around the new painted graphics and you set.

What type of tape would you use to mark off the stripes? regular blue painters tape won't make the sharp bends needed to follow some of the swoops.

Go to an automotive supply house and get vynle tape for masking, use 1/4" for the first line and then your painters tape to that.
