Fresh Cab is a pine smelling bag used for rodent control. It can be purchased at Lowes, HomeDepot, Menards and other places.

Thanks for that info. I'd never heard of it before. Sounds like something a pretty lady with LOTS of feathers would wear around her neck.

It sure sounds a lot safer than the poison I've been using. It's worth a try, those that have used this product how often do the packets have to be changed.

I change mine once a month. I have used every thing, the bounce sheets, the peppermint packets and this stuff has worked the best by far and it doesnt smell that bad, it smells like cedar. My trailer is heading to the woods tomorrow, so I will soon be testing the mouse-free product which hopefully keeps them out entirely.

The website says they last up to 90 days. Has anyone gone longer than that sucessfully? How long?

I was thinking maybe we'd use these in the storage units where we have some things stored including our car, which stays there when we're not near our midwest kids. But 90 days is not long enough. We'd need something to last up to maybe 7 months. Probably no chance the Fresh Cab would be effective for that long. And, no, we don't have anyone within reasonable distance of the storage units to change them out for us.

I've used Fresh Cab for about four years now and before putting up the building to store the Monte in, the Monte sat outside on the Platte River flat lands here in Nebraska and we had hay fields and pastures all around the unit. There were plenty of mice all around and we never had a problem with mice at all. We did throw some mothballs or mothball crystals under the unit and around the wheels and front landing gear but that was it besides the Fresh Cab packets.

I purchased my boxes of Fresh Cab at TSC (Tractor Supply). They seemed to be the cheapest place I could find.

One piece of advice-- unless you want your towels smelling like Fresh Cab do not put them in the same cupboard. Don't ask me how I know about this!

Oh, by the way, I still use Fresh Cab in the Monte even though it sits inside a building now. I also throw a few packets around the building doors to keep the little critters from coming into the building too. One never knows if and when the critters will try to get in anywhere!

We have used hedge apples (osage oranges) to eliminate the crickets but have no idea whether it works for mice.
