New From Illinois
We (Joe & Cindy) have been boating for 16 years and still have a 38' cruiser on Lake Michigan (which is for sale by the way). We started looking at 5th wheels and once we went through a Montana 3400RL we were done looking. We have narrowed our search down to a couple and plan on make the purchase in the next 10 days. Can't wait to pick some brains on this site because I am sure we will have a bunch of questions.

There are a lot of people here who have a lot of knowledge about Monty's. Welcome!
We had a 2006 3400 and now have a 2009 340 RLQ which is a true Big Sky version of a 3400. Ask away!

Congratulations. I suggest you look at this pre deliver inspection PDI and use it for your delivery.
Even give an advance copy to the dealer so they can be prepared.

Welcome to the forum. We have great people here and someone has almost always been there and done that. We love our Montana and I'm sure you'll love yours also. Hope to meet you down the road someday.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. The only stupid question is the one not asked.

Joe,
You have set your sights on a very popular floor plan among the other great ones. The 3400 has been a popular one. Welcome aboard and safe travels to you and your wife.

Welcome to the forum, we just purchased/traded for a 3725RL on 01/31/13. I believe the Montana 3400RL is the most popular model ever produced by Keystone. We understand that last year the 3750FL was the largest selling model for that year. We recommend going to the Fall Rally and regional rallies when possible. From the different floor plans available we have noticed things consistant with many MOC members in their selecting a model that include opening the refer and getting to the bathroom while stopped at Rest Areas. Have fun and safe travels.

Good luck Joe and Cindy! We bought our 3400 back in 2004 and still have it. Just love it and have not seen another floor plan that has interested us over the years. We are in Northern Illinois. We even lived in ours for a year and a half right thru the winter here while we remodeled the house. That year & a half only made us more determined to be able to hit the road for a long several year trip thru our great county.
Whatever you chose, enjoy!

Congratulations and Welcome to the Forum, we have the 3400RL and really enjoy the layout. It works for us.
We had a 2006 3400 and loved it so much, that when we upgraded to a newer model 2011 Big Sky still wanted the 3400.
Enjoy it and make wonderful memories with it.

We found the "right" unit in Wisconsin, a 2008 3400RL. We are still trying to arrange a spot at one of the local RV parks around Peoria so we can drive back up and bring her home. Things are moving right along, we have the house listed, broke the news to our grown kids that we will be full timers, and started filling a storage space. Can't wait to get this adventure started! Got most things figured out, still have to check to see if the State of Illinois will let us have a PO Box as an official address for our driver's license.
