Company Reply on Angel Soft

I received a coupon in the mail today for a "free" 24 Double Roll Package of Angel Soft Bath Tissue. Georgia Pacific didn't need to do that as I was only telling them about my dissatisfaction with the "new and improved" toilet tissue. Nevertheless, they did try to make amends. It still doesn't pass the "shake" test.

I observed (through a clear fitting of course) the contents of my black tank as it was dumping. Lots of large clumps of paper. Got to get something different! Any suggestions anyone? Oops, forgot to say we have been using Angel Soft also!

Glad they responded to you. You must have gotten in early. They just told me "thanks for the input". It will be interesting to see what happens if the RV industry votes with their wallet.

Switched to Scott one-ply two weeks ago and donated a bunch of AS to the local homeless shelter

rv/marine chemical toilets are not septic systems
products that are septic safe does not mean chem toilet safe
chem toilets require tissue that LIQUIFIES
the owners manual clearly says to use rv paper
there are no binders in rv paper THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE IN ANGEL SOFT VS RV PAPER
Experienced rv techs will tell you about paper wads/pyramids built up by residential tp
if you continue to use residential paper, you will eventually have problems
the most comfortable tp is probably the strongest

Noticed the other day in the market that, sure enough, AS no longer has on its packaging "Septic Safe." Dangit. Well, over to Scott we went, although I don't like it as much as AS.

Hard to believe I'm talking about toilet paper preferences on a forum . . .

Scott tissue is okay; it's just the one-ply I don't like -- for obvious reasons.

I'm presently trying 2-ply Charmin. It's very soft and doesn't give me the willies like one-ply paper does. Wife loves it! Put a piece in some water and swirled it around -- though it didn't break down like Angel Soft used to, it did break into many pieces.

We have been using POM from Sams. The label states recommended for marine/rv use, but I did the 20 minutes soak test and not breakdown. Then swirled is around and it did breakup, but this was after the soaking period. Our tank monitor lights always shows at least 1/3rd even when empty, so we probably have paper hanging on that prob keepiing it wet.

I have stashed away two big packs of the old AS. When y'all get this sorted out, please let us know which is best.

I am not sure what's going on. Our Angel Soft Double Roll passes the shake test just fine. Yesterday we needed more TP so before purchase I took a good look at the Angel Soft packaging. This does not say anything about "new and improved" but it does say "2X Stronger." The package also says "septic and sewer safe."

So, is the new and improved just not here yet in this area? We went ahead and got the 12-roll pack and will keep an eye on the packaging for future purchases. But so far the Angel Soft we have available is just as good as it always was. I hope we never see the new and improved version.

i've been doing this since 1975 and would rather use the no-bond paper over dismantling and cleaning out waste tanks ANY DAY

Hooker, take a single sheet of that Angel Soft, put it in an enclosed container partially filled with water. Shake it vigorously for a few seconds. If it shreds into small pieces, it should be fine. If it doesn't, don't use it. If you're not sure, don't use it.
