An issue with Good Sam club

Be sure when its time to renew your membership everybody is on board with the purchase. I made the mistake of buying the lifetime membership for $299 without asking my wife first. She was not happy! So to keep the peace I called GS back within 24 hours to cancel my order. The guy said they normally do not refund memberships but since it had not been 24 hrs he would since the goody box had not been mailed out. All I needed to do was send him a e-mail stating what I mentioned above. I did that immediately. The next day I called to be sure he got the e-mail. But you can't just talk to the person you need to talk too (typical of all customer service everywhere it seems). I sent 2 e-mails to the address I sent the letter to with no reply so I put it out of my mind.
Then one day the goody box shows up at my door. I check my American Express and the Good Sam club charge has not been refunded. So with all of the run around I got on the phone I disputed the charge with the credit card company. They finally got word that GS needed their goody box back so at my expense of $8.00 I mailed it back to them WITH delivery conformation. Then I gave the conformation number to American Express when the package arrived. So the moral of the story is to be sure before you buy!

That sounds like real good advice to me, but................
thats why I handle all the finances, and my wife asks me if she can buy this or that, it works out good because I never say no.

That's why Joyce and I have different bank accounts. If it's not "our money" it's not as big a deal. Of course we each had to be married before to figure out how our personalities work, not exactly an experience I would recommend, but it worked for a great marriage this time.

Just another friendly reminder, when she says, "Do what the #$%@ you want" it does not constitute approval!!!

You guys are funny! I just thought it was a good deal and thought DW would feel the same. Oops. I will be married 20 years in February and I have made a few of those "I am doing it anyway" decisions and I still get reminded of them from time to time. Decided this one was not worth "the cost" if you know what I mean.

There is an old saying "If a man is out in the woods all by himself and there is no one around within miles and he says something - is he still wrong?"
I think that answers the question for every married man about buying something without checking before hand with the better half.

After reading this, it seems to me the title should be "An Issue With The D/W."

I became a life time member simply because I got tired of renewing it every year. The “goodie bag” came in and took up space in a drawer for a long time. It has now mostly been filed away if you know what I mean, especially since I noticed they misspelled the city we live in on our cards; (South Snore) instead of South Shore! Usually if I made a decision like that if it went bad, it would’ve had something to do with working night shift. That seems to deteriorate things sometimes fairly rapidly as a result of planning on my part.

Maybe but I was disappointed at all of the run around Good Sam's gave me. Especially after they said they would take care of canceling my order and then did not. That is enough that I will probably not ever rejoin the club.
