Still uh...balmy, yeah balmy here....albeit with a minus sign in front of it. We've had zero issues with freezing up or large quantities of propane used, so we're happy. Pic of tree is out our window, overlooking the lake (which never freezes).

Hey Larry-- what's the name of the little Mexican place there off the main drag? We've been there numerous times with our Brother and Sister-in-law! Great food and good margaritas too! OK back to the topic and the beautiful balmy temp of 23* here in Omaha with clear skies. Heading for the golf course tomarrow if it stays this way!

Ron-- Come on up to Nebraska-- It's only 20* here now and only suppose to hit 6* tonight! Heck, it's suppose to get up above freezing tomarrow!
Speaking of Nebraska-- has anyone heard we are holding the Central Plains Regional Rally up here again this year! It's July 13th-18th! I promise for warmer weather at that time-- just ask the gang that were here last year!
OK, back to the subject of this thread!

We survived the great storm with only ice and a bit of snow and wind. 180,000 homes around here without power and praise the Lord, we weren't one of them. Power repair crews from as far as the Carolinas here working around the clock. All supposed to be restored by the weekend, just in time for the next ice and snow storm. We have had only two days since the first of December that the ground hasn't been white and you can count on one hand the number of times the temperature got above freezing.

Another weather event here in this part of Tejas--ground is white with snow this A M. However, it is supposed to get above freezing today. Had no rolling brownouts yesterday, good thing. Had some on Wed. Had to make two service calls on a heating unit--------mine. Seems if the unit was running when brownout happened the unit got confused and wouldn't restart due to a tripped safety. At least I didn't have to go too far, out to the shop for meter and tools. Been awhile.

I spent several years in Omaha working for the US Army Corps of Engineers. I saw -10 several times while there. In 2005 I retired(?) to Arizona. For a winter home, this is great. It is now 0620 and the outside temp is 33. But, it will warm up to 63 - 65 today and give me a chance to wash some of the Quartzsite dust off the Monty and TV.
Bad weather, like "trouble may come to pass, but nowhere does it say that it comes to stay". So, we are looking forward to heading for Yuma next Sunday to support a Red Cross Excercise at US Marine Corps Station, Yuma. Then stick around for the Passport America Rally, 20 - 24 Feb in Yuma.
No snow, no chains, no shoveling, no salt on the sidewalks...life is good.

20* this morning and another 3"-6" of new snow. Been below freezing since Monday night when we had freezing rain and sleet. Supposed to finally get above freezing tomorrow.
I am sure this is driving Jerry Jones crazy. Many are questioning whether he will ever get another super bowl in his new stadium. Really put a damper on all the partying and celebration plans.

23 degrees here in VERY SUNNY Casa Grande, AZ. No snow yet but I look outside every morning. Cold spell should break this weekend and we will be back up in the 70's on Sunday. Just have to remember to bring the hose in each night and make sure we have propane. I am not complaining, life is good, a good woman, pickleball is abundant and the food is hot! What more can a man ask for???????

Well, Benson AZ is getting even colder. It was 9 here this morning and now the plumbing (we are on the pump) is frozen even after leaving the thermostat on 50 all night and an electric heater in the big front compartment. The good news is that it is to start warming up. They say it is the coldest here ever.

We were in Rockport, TX last week; high 60's all week. In Port Aransas, TX since February 1st. Record setting low temps and freezing drizzle since then and it isn't my idea of a warm winter vacation, as we live in central Wisconsin. We're used to this type of weather but like to get out of it for awhile! I really feel sorry for the locals who do not know how to drive on ice or deal with the freezing temps. Poor marine life and animals cannot adapt either. Especially feel sorry for husband and our 22 year old, recently graduated from college son, who were catching lots of fish in Campano Bay near Rockport, but haven't been able to wet a line here. Cabin fever has started to affect the three of us and our two dogs. Grrrrrrr.
Will be trying to convince the hubby to vacation in the Florida Keys next winter, where I hear they have lots of lovely, big, happy fish.

Beautiful yesterday in Port Aransas, TX (on Mustang Island). High 60's and sunshine, until it clouded up later in the day. Woke up this a.m. to clouds, fog, drizzle, low 60's. My guys went fishing as usual. Early beach walk with our Springer for me. The winds picked up about 9:30; rain and temperature began to fall about 10. By noon, the furnace and fireplace were in high gear. Back in Wisconsin, we say, "wait 10 minutes and the weather will change." Now I can say that about SE TX too. On a day like this, I'd rather be back in frigid WI. At least there we expect and accept the cold, snow, freezing rain and ice. One actually gets acclimated to it (but doesn't necessarily like it.) Looking forward to the warm TX temps that are predicted for next week!
