2011 August Mid-Atlantic Regional Rally
Alright everybody, I have basic informtion for our 2011 Mid-Atlantic Region Rally. I tried everywhere in the NC Piedmont-Charlotte area to get a campground that would be big enough and work with us. Sorry but couldn't make it work. So Tom Johnson's Rally Park in Marion, NC has agreed to host our rally from August 10-14, 2011. They will give us as many sites as we need at $24.00 per night. That's right, $24.00 per night!!! Plus they will allow us to use the Pavillion for FREE! If you go to their site, http://www.tomjohnsoncamping.com/Pag...rk-Layout.aspx, look under 'Camping' and then Rally Park Layout in Marion, we will be in the P & R areas and he said we could use the sites as pull-thru instead of back-ins. They are also allowing the reservations to go through me instead of calling them and putting deposits down. You will pay when you get there. I will just need to know the number of sites and a name to go with them.
Now the only bad news. Tom Johnson's is not a Montana dealer so if Montana wants to bring in a model for us to look at (like they did last year) they would have to pay a vendor's fee for the day. He told me that this is what they do for all groups that use the park. I hope this doesn't cause many concerns as they would really love to have us there and are giving us a great rate and perks. Please let me know if there are any real concerns before I sign the contract next Monday. I told them that I wanted to hear from our group before I finalized everything. We can also plan day trips to Biltmore House, Mt. Mitchell, Lake Lure or other popular sites here in the Great Smokey Mountains. Just let me know what y'all want to do. Look forward to hearing from you.

Also, the Pavillion will seat 5,000 people, so let's see if we can fill it up. We have room to make it a big event. All we have to do is invite everyone that we know and have a great rally. If you had "special duty" hosting games, half and half, setting up the dinners or cooking and would like to do it again, please let me know.

Steve & Carla,
Thanks for setting this up. I've put it on the calendar. Not having a Montana there isn't a deal breaker for us. The place looks great and having so many things to see is terrific. We might even get Vickie's daughter who lives in Asheville to visit one day. We'll help in any way we can.

We can have a Montana brought in but the Vendor fee is $200. Depends on how bad Montana wants to set one up. They could always let one of us "borrow" the new model for the rally and show it off as "ours". lol

Steve,
You need to change the topic to Mid-atlantic Rally so people don't confuse it with the Fall Rally.

Hat's off to you Steve....dang fine looking place you picked ! We'll pencil it in, but won't be able to make a decision until we see how it goes with the work on the new house in NY. We won't be able to make the NE rally due to timing, but we'll strive to get down to this one. Also, not having new 'tanas there to see isn't a deal breaker for us either..but if you work it out with the dealer to bring a few, I'd be willing to throw some bucks in the pot to help offset the vendor fee.
Again, nice job !

Thanks Steve, the location and the locale appear to be terrific!!! We are definitely interested and will be setting our yearly schedule very shortly. The Mid-Atlantic rally will be at the top of the list since it may be our only rally this year. Like others, the display unit is far from a necessity. I will PM you the contact information for the Montana representative who attended last year in the event that Keystone-Montana wants to step up to the plate again!! Put as down as definitely interested and looking forward to seeing everyone again!!

Steve-- Mark us down as being interested! We're hoping to make more of the Rallies this year if we can find the time! If you have some time, come on out to the Central Plains Regional Rally in July. Check out the Rally Calendar for the dates!

We plan on adding the Rally to our trip. I thought TJ was a Keystone dealer?

I just looked at the website for Mt. Mitchell. That looks like a great day trip. The Biltmore House is also on our list.
