Search function question
I'm having trouble with the "search" function to work since ForumCo "upgraded" the system. Is anyone else having difficulty getting it to work?
Thanks,
HamRad

It seems to work for me. I searched landing legs over all and had 44 hits then put under my name filter and only 11.

Thank you John and Al..... John I'm using FireFox as my browser. I have a MAC. I tried using your suggestions and still get nothing. Obviously if you are getting results it is working. I'll keep trying to figure out what the problem is.
And Al it is good to know I'm not the only one too.
Later,
Dennis

You are not alone Dennis! There sure seems to be some weirdness associated with the Search function and it isn't due to the recent changes.
On November 2nd, In post
http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=41713
KTManiac notes that the Search Function appears to be not fully functional. He made a posting on Aug 1st describing his counter extension. However if one Searches on "counter extension" his post does not appear.
The problem was there on Nov. 2nd (before the changes) and still exists today (after the upgrade). And it fails equally well regardless of the browser you are using.

Thanks for the report. It is always good to have as much info as you can when you have a problem. I have always had decent results with the SEARCH function. It has been a problem only since the upgrade of ForumCo. There is one other thing that might be a problem and that is a recent Security update. So I will keep trying to find the problem.
Thanks,
Dennis

I tried to search for a recent post of mine by using the search word "lightning." No results. Tried it as a title search only, also no results. Something's definitely amiss with the search feature.

I just tried searching for "lightning". Got 8 hits when searching entire message, but none for subject only.

Dennis,
I'm on the iMac right now and did a search. Every thing worked fine, so it's not the computer. Most likely as you stated, a security setting.
Good luck.

There seems to be a clear pattern here. If you are male, gray headed, and have a permanent home in California, then Search doesn't work properly. It works for Doug because what little hair he still has isn't gray. (Sorry, Doug!)
