I-57 vs I-55 thru Illinois

Headed to Wisconsin and Minnesota right after Labor Day from West Tennessee. Distance is nearly identical on these two highways. Has anyone traveled them recently. How good/bad condition are they in. We will be towing a Mountaineer 324RLQ.
Thanks for your input.

I-57 tends to have less traffic.

We were on 55 from Interstate 40 to Sikeston MO. and from there to IL state highway 24 south of Chicago about a month ago. 55 was good and 57 was good to 70. Somewhere north of interstate 70 [maybe as far as Mt Vernon] highway 57 got kind of rough in places and there was some construction. Traffic was fairly light all the way [weekday].

We travel them both often and find them about the same... Caution though... Be sure to get on to I-39 close to Bloomington. IL to avoid going through Chicago. Enjoy your trip.. It will be beautiful in late September.

Speed limit for rv's in Ill. is 55. I have no idea on how close they stick to that speed limit but you will see radar units in medians. I have traveled both highways many times and found few problems, just bumpy ever now and then.
