UPDATE.UPDATE, 2010 G.L Rally ?????
As was discussed at the 2009 G.L rally we will attempt to put together the 2010 G.L rally. It will be Aug 5th to Aug 9th ,At Camp Sandusky near lake Lake Erie. It is very similar to the Mackinaw area. Lake Erie Islands, Kelly's island, put in Bay, Ceder Point Amusement park..
We will attempt a block of 25/30 units. Note that because of the size of the group and the size of our units our campground choices are restricted and will need to be made ASAP. We have done this before for our local group so have a good handle on the available C.G's.
We will need to do this before we leave for Florida in Mid October.

Rich,
We are very interested in the final date that will be set. I want to try to put some more separation between the Great Lakes and the Mid-Atlantic rally next year. We are going to try to attend both as well as the NE rally depending on our schedules.

Bingo and Rich,
Work it out! The idea of a bit more seperation would be great, maybe a caravan between??
Good luck to both of you, you are very capable and thanks for volunteering!
CountryGuy and Mrs will be watching the threads.

We had three rigs that came to the Mid-Atlantic Rally from the Great Lakes rally. If that is the plan of any for next year, that will be taken into consideration for the dates of the Mid-Atlantic rally. If not, we will try to get at least 2-3 weeks separation from other rallies. I realize this is being posted in another topic, but I want to make the rallies where the timing is not troublesome for any potential attendees. Our schedule is dictated by the school year, which is why we are interested in all three rallies, next year is the first where three rallies will be held outside of school!!

I had my rallies confused..I am going rally wacky.. There is the 2010 G.L raly, The 2010 N.E rally and the 2010 Mid Atlantic rally. There are folks that would like to attend all of them so I will attempt to co-ordiante. The 2010 NE rally is set for June 2-6. We are looking at Aug 2-6 for the G.l rally and Bingo is watching to find a date for the Mid Atlantic rally. We have contacted Bingo (mid atlantic) and will contact Greener( N.E rally) and see what happens????

Can I be in the center of the caravan this time???Then everyone will know where we are. We have 4 C.G's selected in the Sandusky, Port Clinton area and Helen and I will take a drive over there Wednesday and take a look. We are familiar with all of them but have not been over there for 2 or 3 years.

Helen and I took a drive up and over to the lake to look at a few sites..So far..not so good. We have one possible. very nice owners, Unlimited use of the pavilion/ buildings nice big area for community campfire, we can bring in wood, fair price(I did not negotiate hard yet)
It is very near all the Lake Erie Attractions.
HOWEVER there are a lot of nice shade trees. Maybe to many. We are concerned about Satellite reception and room for all the slide outs. The spaces are not as large as I would like them, about the same as Mackinaw. We looked a 3 other C.G's that we thought would be able to handle our rigs in terms of numbers and size. Our local camping group does not have units this big..Example... we have the biggest unit in the group.
We are still working on it.....

we went up to the Lake again today to do some more checking on the campground..take a look www.campsandusky.com Everything looks good.On the site map the sites we would have are PT 1 through PT 25 and sites 88-94. Most of them are pull through 50 amp, full hook ups. Free use of pavilion, free WI fi (Nomad , Normally 7.99 for 5 days) free cable on the sites that have cable..Sites 88 to 94. we can bring our own clean wood. The C.G said they will do a pancake Bkfst(normally 4.00) if we have the numbers. Nice pool and near real Lake Erie beaches.. The dates will be ????? This is a high tourist area on the Lake Erie Islands and weekends are a premium. see www.shoresandislands.com Price negotiated thus far is 38.00 per day + tax. So far we got the free Wifi and free pancake bkfst IF we can bring in 23/25 units. We are not done negotiating. We are Co ordinating the dates with Bingo for his rally as some folks want to do both and we are thinking.... CONVOY... Will have more information at the Fall rally as we raided the Lake Erie Shores and Islands Welcome center and came way with bags of information..... We had fun today...

Keep me in the loop, since unfortunately we can't make it to the fall rally. I am really liking this idea of rallies back-to-back. We are up for both of them, I will even take a weeks vacation to make sure of it. We are looking at the Wytheville area again, which would be about an 8 hour drive from Sandusky. 4 nights at Sandusky, then 3 or 4 nights in Wytheville??

Rich, the Camp Sandusky sounds great, priced right also!
With a year planning, wouldn't it be neat to go from one rally to the other two!!!!
And, yes, we'll see to it you are in the middle as long as we can all get fuel at the same time, huh!

The NE rally is in June, I guess I am wondering, and would like feedback on (sorry for interrupting the regularly scheduled thread here!!) whether people are interested in travelling from the Great Lakes rally directly to the Mid-Atlantic rally or whether separation is preferred. My preference is going straight from one to the other in August (that way I can squeeze them both into one vacation week or so). We are also planning on the NE rally since it is after school lets out, but it is kind of in it's own little slice of time from these two. Maybe we should start a separate thread to discuss this, but they are starting to appear to be intertwined together??

Bingo, I for one would like to CONVOY from the Great Lakes rally straight to the Mid-Atlantic rally.

Bingo we will discuss this at the Fall rally among those who were at he G.L rally or are interested in doing the convoy trip.. I have no particular preference but a few said a "separation" between rallies would be good but now that I think back I do not know what "seperation means.. We will work it out. Traveling in convoy takes a bit longer than traveling by yourself. Food stops and Fuel stops take a lot longer. IMo the trip from Sandusky to Your rally would be a overnighter at least or a very long travel day.

If in a convoy RICH will be last as he is lost most of the time looking for fuel, then says he is going 80 to catch up but what were they doing for 15 min while we waited in marinette.. time will tell ,,,sailer

Well I don't know John. You did a fine job of leading the convoy but I did hear Sailor and lead foot mentioned in the same sentence. don't know as you were to far away from me to ever see you... Lets everyone get new trucks then we can look for ULSD together.
