sreigle,
You posted "So we put that clear plastic film over the windows when we will winter in a cold area. " I wondered if anyone can tell me why my 09 3605RL Monty has what I'll call weep holes at the bottom of all windows. They are slots about 1" long about 1/8" wide. They allow warm air to escape and cold air to enter. This rig is the 10 anniversary edition with the arctic package. I go through a lot of propane even though at bed time we drop the thermostat to 64 and bundle up under the blankets. 1 7gal bottle every three days and when the temp gets below 30 outside the furnace doesn't seem to take a break.
Thanks in advance.
Steve

Maintain 70 degrees at 0 degrees.... I would like to see that. I can tell you that we maintained 70 degrees with two electric heaters on high and the furnace would go off maybe 10 mins then come on again, used a 7 gal tank in 4 days..Oh the low was is the mid 20's and the highs in the mid 40's. On the coldest day we used 41 KW of power. It was in the mid 70's today and we use 7.5 KW of power.. Note they did not say what they had to do to stay at 70 degrees at 0 degrees. Like how many electric heaters did they have in the camper.

I had the Artic package on the Cambridge, one thing I remember is the heated tanks option which if I remember had a switch for each, never used them. I think the Artic package equals "Good Selling Point". GBY......

I attended the Detroit rv show this weekend and two dealers had some Montana units. I saw no brochures or stickers touting the arctic package so I would say that keystone has retired the arctic package as a selling point.

I wonder if the Arctic package has been so integrated into all units that there is no need to mention it any more. I think all units now have underlayment insulation, drain valves and the like. That's good enough for me, because these features are good to have. At least the insulation even helps when it's hot, too.

There has been some super improvements in insulation. We saw a demonstration of it at the fall rally. We noted it was included in the New alpine at the Tampa RV show. My guess is that it is in the Montana line. These things should be a lot warmer in cold weather. Don't help me none... We just filled our 4th tank of propane and it is only the 15th of Feb...... and we are in sunny Florida..Also gone through 226 KW of Electric...
