Reservation UPDATE for 2009 Lake Siskiyou
2009 Lake Siskiyou Just in case anyone is thinking about their travel plans in 2009, Lake Siskiyou is already taking reservations for 2009.
Memorial Day in 2009 is Monday, 5/25. I would imagine the rally would be Friday 5/22 thru Monday 5/26 with some folks coming a few days or more earlier and some staying a few days or so later.
*LOL.... any takers on organizing the 2009 Lake Siskiyou rally? We could really sew up the whole "300" numbered campsites if we started planning it now!

Ahmmmmm.......I thought the one who comes up with the idea should be the one to organize it!...
So there we go...DandMontheroad will be letting us know dates and sign up for the 2009 rally. (lol)
By the way when can you start booking for 2009?

I should have known it would be you who would have posted more about this. As you already knew, dear sister , I am indeed toying with the idea of organizing a 2009 Lake Siskiyou rally. Campsites for 2009 are open for reservation now according to the folks at Lake Siskiyou.
I'll get back to you on this and next week when the other sister gets back from her travels, Doug and I are cooking and YOU are doing the dishes!

You are all too funny. I am just hoping to get to do some camping in 2008 - 2009 is too far ahead for me! I am pretty sure we will be there at this point and happy to have some time off.

Margee, I am so hopin' Dick and I will be there in 2009. I'll keep watching this thread with great interest, keep our fingers crossed and pray to the good Lord. We've always wanted to go there and attend. Looks like we'll be in the west at that time. Can't wait to meet you all.

I just called Lake Siskiyou and made our reservation for 2009. How's that for planning ahead? Now we need to concentrate on 2008--need to find just the right gift (but who can beat singing flowers?)

Great! I am sure you got one of the better sites by booking this early.
Let me know your site number, arrival & departure dates and I'll add you onto the 2009 list.
See you next month!

Ok-
We just made reservations for 2009
Yikes! it's wierd to make reservations so far ahead....I guess if we were full timers then it would make sense.
We went ahead and did this because we do on plan on being at next years rally, and the information is right the spots are filling up quick....I don't want to wait for someones cancellation to get a spot.
Sooooooooo.....
DandMontheroad,
We will be at Lake Siskiyou Fri May 22-Tue May 26, 2009
at site #344
But we will see everyone this year!......

PartyCrashers.... thanks for the info... I put you on the list for 2009.
One of the biggest complaints on the forum used to be that rallys aren't announced far enough ahead so that people can plan.
I think the holdup on announcing has always been finding people willing to organize. Once you get that in place, then you can announce.
So here I am willing to organize AND with advance notice .
Glad you called and reserved your site now. (By the way... you didn't get next to us did you? )

(This is an intentional repeat post from the main 2009 Lake Siskiyou topic)
As of today, Saturday, July 12 @ 3:30pm, the sites listed below are the sites still available in the 300 area for next year's Lake Siskiyou rally.
Of the available sites, I know that site #302 is kinda yucky as we were next door to it in site #303 this last rally. Also, site #300 is about as close to a "pull-thru" site as you can get.
I don't expect these sites to be available for more than another month or two, so if you want to reserve, do it now.
You can always cancel later.
NOT ALL SITES WILL ACCOMMODATE ALL RV SIZES
Look on the Lake Siskiyou map for site locations http://www.lakesis.com/map2002.gif Click on the map, it will increase in size
Give them a call and you will have to provide them with the length and number of slides of your rig. (888) 926-2618 toll-free Reservations taken 9am to 5pm PST
Sites available: 302
303
304
305
312
326
339
349
350
351
352

Well just got off the phone to the park and they say that none of these sites are big enough for a 38 foot fifth wheel with 4 slides. I was told to keep checking back....

....*heavy sigh*.... I spent some time on the phone with them and they told me that some of these sites are 35 to 40 feet long. It must be the width of the site that there is problem with.
I do think that site #300 would accomodate you just fine though. It's basically a pull-through site. LMurphy has had that site for a couple of years and at this last rally a long motorhome pulling an enclosed trailer was in it.
But, I guess they know best?

I'm a bit confused about this "space" issue. Having attended several of these events and being somewhat familiar with the various spaces I think that MOST of the sites will accommodate rigs our size. Sure you might have to take it very carefully getting in and out but doable.
Yes. There are a lot of trees and they're not always in exactly the right place. But we have a creative group and I've seen folks get their rigs in spaces in some very innovative ways.
Perhaps Don would be willing to take the list out with him and do a survey for us. He knows a lot about the park and if he says they won't fit in then we know it is true. It is just a suggestion.
Thanks,
HamRad

I know Doug and Margee were in site 303 and they fit nicely. There is no reason you can't too.
Edited to correct Doug's name - my bad!

exav8tr-
I do know that Doug and Margee did have their Montana in site 303, but it was site 302 that was right next to them....real close at the front of the trailer. I don't know if it was because the Montana next to them had to be at a little bit of an angle because of a tree. Actually I was amazed at the job the Moc'er did getting his trailer in site 302.
When DandM On The Road signs on, Margee will give you better answers for site 303....
Maybe as someone posted earlier you can ask Don (Searchers) if he could check for you or if he can recall the numbers that are listed above. Maybe CRS hasn't settled in yet (LOL) and he may recall if these sites would be good for you or not.
Even thou you have another site that is not in the 300 circle. At least you are coming to the Rally. You will still have a goodtime, as the gatherings are done at the Rec. Room and the Campfires.
Best of luck and don't give up hope
