Glenn and Lorraine,
My brother-in-law, Jamie, echoes your Ford sentiment. He still can't believe I bought one.

John and Cathy,
Just about everyone I know who lives in an RV has had a bad day like you had. You just got yours out of the way early!
Happy Travels! Hope to see you down the road.....
Glenn, you should have stretched the picture to show the Cummins in the front...

Congrats on the new 3400rl John,we just bought ours home last Monday and can't wait to hit the road and meet all of these nice MOC people.
Sadly we have to wait until spring, but there's a lot to learn to keep us busy. You and Cathy have fun and keep posting those great stories. Jack

I'm sooo late in reading this. Wow! Now that was an adventure! We have a steep long drive also, but thankfully, it's paved. Guess you already had your first trip and have probably already posted if you're going to Neman Marcus or Big Lots. I've got to catch up! Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your experience!

Our trip to Shorter, Alabama was a great shakedown for the 3400RL. Again, I had problems at the top of the driveway. This time, however, it was different. The safety wire for the brakes on the trailer was looped around the handle for the hitch pin release. I turned left at the top of the driveway to head up the road, carefully avoiding my mailbox with the trailer. When I straightened the truck/trailer rig, the safety wire was pulled out by the handle. I felt the drag of the trailer, but shirked it off to merely being in too high a gear to get started. But, when I stopped at a "STOP" sign and tried to move forward again, the trailer didn't want to come with me. I backed off the road so that I could investigate the problem, and found the plug had been pulled from the trailer.
I will always pay attention in the future to the location of the safety wire on the brake release.
Regarding our shopping spree after returning from Shorter, it will have to be at BIG LOTS. I pick my nose better than I pick the dogs.
John
