Quartzsite Gathering 2008
It is time to start thinking about our annual circling of the Montana's at Quartzsite.
This event is a gathering of MOC members with little to no agenda. We typically have a visitors day with pot luck snacks, and a camp fire at night.
Here is the link to the RV show there.
http://www.quartzsitervshow.com/
Please let me know if you want a spot in the circle at Quartzsite.
January 19-27, 2008 in Quartzsite on Plomosa Road.
Here are the coordinates and directions for where we stayed last year and hope to be at in January. We will have a MOC sign posted at the turn off to the gathering area.
N = 33.45.403
W = 114.11.800
The turnoff is just past the 1 mile marker..... a green sign on the right side of the road. Go past that and make the first left turn you see. You should see the MOC sign.
Just stay on that road until you see us. We are on the left at the end of that road. We have a huge circle of Montana's this year. Don't think you can miss us once you see sign.
We will be there from Jan. 19-27, but any of you that want come earlier or stay longer can as the camping is free.
There are no hook ups, water, or sewer dumps in the Plomosa Rd. area.
If you need water or sewer service you will need to call the honey wagon service and they will come out to the area and take care of your rig on site.
Check out our first years gathering.

Doug,
Count us in!!! We will be there with bells!
Is anyone going to bring ATV's or the like? We just got a couple of Polaris's this summer, and think it would be a lot of fun to go ridding there.
I'm sure Mel will also jump onto this thread, as I know he is really looking forward to Quartzsite in Jan.

We will be staying in the Parker area in January. We drive down to see the show and the flea market several times. This year we'll check out Plomosa Road and stop for a visit.

MelsJoy, I saw a lot of quads in camps around Quartzite last winter. There are a lot of places to ride in the Parker area, that is why we like to stay there.

We'd like to go but we couldn't get there until the 24-25 for a few days - would that be okay?

Doug,
Please add us to the growing list. I hope it will be warmer this coming year. Last year was just too cold! We are looking forward to this event.

Doug, sign us up, we'll be there.
It looks like the circle will be so big that it'll be quite a hike to get across. Have you considered doing spokes like we talked about last year?

Do most MOC folks just go to Quartzsite for the one week or do some stay there for awhile. We'll be retiring the end of January, so I was wondering if folks are still there in Feb. or if the "move on" to other winter quarters (AZ, NM, RGV, TX)?

Doug, Dennis and I had dinner tonight in Charleston/Coos Bay, Oregon with Carl and Sue Youngren and Pam and Ray Howard. They are without forum access at this time, but would like to join the Quartzsite group this year. Add them to the list.
