Leaking Slide
Posted a thread on this in the Gen Section, but thought I should also put a brief comment here.
We had a big time leak over the kit table/sofa slide. The sealing tape that covers the row of screws near the outside edge of the slide was not sealed. I strongly suggest others check their seals. We were in lighter rain and had no leaks...the storm enroute to Enterprise resulted in the leak. Regular exterior silicone will work...that's what the dealer used.

Already put a lot of Entrabond tape on the the metal strips on the sides of the main slide.
I recommend that everybody in older campers run their hand along the bottom of the slide where the metal strips are. Check for softness in the floor along the edges. There was no protection whatsoever to prevent water from seeping into the floor.(Same for bedroom slide) Once inside the floor soaks it like a blotter. You cannot tell from the inside of the camper until the damage is extensive.
I have some pix's of the repairs I made if your interested.
It is a full time job watching for leaks on the slides.

Tom,
Here are some pics of our shared problem. We replaced the entire floor, better than new! All the slides received a new bead of caulk and we now check periodically for leaks in that spot.

From the looks of that first pix your damage was caused the same way as mine.
Did you have to remove the slide to fix the floor? Looks like a great job.

No, we didn't remove it all the way. We had the slide opened up, pulled the board out, and slid a new one in. Jacked it up in various spots. My Steve is a real handy man with stuff such as this. Now it is stronger and better than new! Just hope it doesn't happen again!

By luck mine was only damaged on the edges so I was able to repair mine.
I sure didn't want to take the slide out. But it is good to know that you can replace the floor without taking the slide out.
thanks

After reading a few of these threads I crawled up on top of Miss Monty last weekend to take a look. The tape they use to seal the outside edge does not hold very well. i noticed a couple p[laces where it looks like it is starting to let go of the roof. I also noticed what appears to be a small slump in the roof right in the middle of the slide where most people are reporting water leaking in over the center of the slide.

We are going to start adding this standard statement. " this is not meant to be a negative statement, It is a true and honest statement and is the view of the poster only" We note the same thing as many others have. It is listed as Item # 18 on our service center repair list.

Do all of these leak problems occur with a slide awning or mainly without?? I will still check the tape that seems to be mentioned a lot in many threads, but I am assuming that with the slide awnings, that it would be difficult for leaks to occur even if the tape became loose. Am I thinking right or wrong??

Can you post your pix. I am a little confused as to where the leak occurred. Where is the sealing tape that was referred to?

When you look at the top of the slide along the outside edge...the tape runs the length of the slide covering a row of screws. You can't miss it.
